It's not new by any stretch of the imagination, but I am amazed at how many people I have introduced this artist to who have never heard of her, and that is a crime by commercial radio. Brandi Carlisl

The Walkmen were so so good. His solo stuff has been quite good as well.

Diggin' this one too...

I listened to some of Jason Isbel's new album. Good listen.

Honing his skills in the Cincinnati band "Elmwood" in the early part of this decade, Ruston Kelly has transplanted to Nashville, recently got engaged to award winning country singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves, and has high expectations to reach a broader audience with his fantastic Alt/Country sound.

Here's his new video for the song "Black Magic" from his debut EP "Halloween"

I just bought Dan Auerbach's new solo album. It's pretty light...nothing like the Black Keys stuff obviously.

Here's one to chew on...

Latest additions to the catalog:

"The Nashville Sound" - Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

"So You Wanna Be An Outlaw" - Steve Earle and the Dukes

"Coconut Oil" EP - Lizzo

"After Laughter" - Paramore

The new Jason Isbell album is top notch. Not quite "Southeastern", but an improvement from "Something More Than Free".

Jeff Tweedy released an album last week called "Together at Last" which is primarily acoustic versions of Wilco songs. It's nothing groundbreaking, but pretty good.

I might have to check that out. Tweedy put out a DVD in 2006 of his solo acoustic tour with a lot of those songs...I pop it in once every 3 or 4 months still when I'm looking for some background noise at home. It's called Sunken Treasure. Great versions of the songs, for sure.

Here's the version of of Wilco's song "Sunken Treasure" from the Sunken Treasure DVD:

I can't believe Being There has been out for 20 years.

"Big Fish Theory" - Vince Staples

4:44 for the foreseeable future.

I can't remember where I read this, but someone said it's more of a Shawn Carter album than Jay-Z, and that for the most part, that is accurate, except that Jay-Z seems to run the family business, and this was strictly a business move. It just so happens that even Hov's business moves contain good music.

Waiting on Apple to buyout Tidal before I'll be able to listen to this one, but I'm anxious to hear it.

It's definitely weird to not hear any Kanye production, but a really good album nonetheless.

I'm just trying to decide if Tidal will become my streaming service of choice after the 30-day trial.
