Black Crowes' former guitarist Rich Robinson's new band "The Magpie Salute" looks to be a groovy 70's hippy party.

 

This one by British girl Kate Stables and her band This Is The Kit has been tickling my ear lately on WNKU... Dig the groove of the bass line.

 

This song prompted me to dig deeper and listen to a handful more of her tunes, and I'm digging her simple laid back, less is more, lo-fi tasty and appealing approach.

 

There's a throwback late 60's/ early 70's folky thing happening with her sound in an indie band setting. Haven't heard anything yet that I didn't like.

 

She'll be doing an efficient North American tour in October only hitting 12 bigger cities, so I guess that counts me out. :(

 

No saxophones in this one, but still a very good groovy take with its basic elements that don't make you miss them.
