What New Music Are You Listening To?

I wouldn't call you late to the party, per se. Wussy was a side project of sorts for the first five years or so...and since then they have virtually prided themselves in their "indie" status. They've been a great band for the entirety of their existence, but to say you're late to the party for not having heard of them yet would be like saying you "missed a party" that was comprised of 5 thirty-somethings that you don't know, quietly sitting in one of their basements and playing Sega Genesis.

It's not new by any stretch of the imagination, but I am amazed at how many people I have introduced this artist to who have never heard of her, and that is a crime by commercial radio. Brandi Carlisl

Lindsey Stiring. My niece played a bit of one of her recordings. I've since downloaded her channel app on my phone. I like it.

Picked up Bear's Den's new record last night...their first full-length release. Pressed on double-10" vinyl. Pretty solid. Includes new work along with some re-recordings of songs from their first two EPs.

I don't know how they do it but Bear's Den never fails to put a lump in my throat. Gotta keep the Puffs close by when listening to them.

Thanks for posting.......AWESOME cover, can't believe this is the 1st time I ever heard (this version) or seen this. :thumb:

Went a little iTunes silly last night while loading CDs to my phone for an upcoming trip and downloaded:

"Metamodern Sounds In Country Music" by Sturgill Simpson

"Return To Cookie Mountain" by TV on the Radio

"They Want My Soul" by Spoon

A throwback sound from a current day timeless hippy Guy Blakeslee. This tune "The Cloud" has been rapidly bleeding its way into every fiber of my being. His voice recalls another someone that I can't place my finger on, and it's driving me nuts trying to figure out who. Any ideas who he sounds like?

OK...It's been gnawing at my brain, but I think that I've finally figured out who Guy Blakeslee's vocal tone reminds me of and I had to dig as far back as 1966 to vocalist John Sharkey from the band "Syndicate of Sound" and their hit tune "Little Girl"

Once a member of "Fleet Foxes" freak folky hippy "Father John Misty" (real name Joshua Tillman, and used to record as J. Tillman) is an undeniable vocal talent with an original quirky stage presence. Becoming recognized as proven through his appearance on the David Letterman show.
