I do think Foster, Pittman, and R. Johnson will all be apart of the team because not only are they talented, but there's also a 9th region coach coaching the team.

You're Crazy if you think Dakota Euton is going to make the team over Ge-lawn Guyn. Although I'm not a huge fan of the kids he is exactly the type of player that can be effective on a team like this.

I personally think Guyn will and should make the team but when "politics" are involved, you never know.

 

Heck, Delquan Thomas of Eastern didn't even get an invite. Take it FWIW.

You and me both. Saw him several times in the KOB and really liked his game.

 

I also didn't see Quintrell Morris' name on the list either. That's another kid that impressed me when I saw him. Blue collar type kid that does it all at both ends of the floor.

A lot of great players were left off. I suppose they tried to get kids from all over the state that were the best in their area. In doing that your probably going to miss on some great players from areas like Louisville where, especially this year, there were so many very good HS players.

I agree. This is one of the biggest reasons why we don't consistantly bat Indiana in this rivalry.

 

We aren't even getting the best players to TRYOUTS, let alone on the team.

Can't argue with any of the kids you think should make the team, but one that was playing at a high level at the end of the year was Samsel from Manual. His play in the 7th Region tourney, especially against Ballard was impressive. He's very quick, handles the ball and the pressure well, sees the floor, sets up guys with his passing, can take guys off the dribble, and has a killer jump shot. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he plays his way onto this team at the tryouts.

While Foster had a great 9th region tournament, I don't see him making the team. While he played well in the championship, he was 3-33 in the two previous games againt Holmes. Great player, but not Kentucky-Indiana great.

He did have a really good game against Christian Co as well. I believe he struggled big time to defend Hickey though.

If your basing it on the coach and his experience with the players, Vance Hall would be a number one choice. He had 30 points on both Listerman and Drury so IMO being a 9th region player is not putting them heads above the others.

No disrespect to him, but I'd say most people understand what I'm saying. You never see coaches like Dave Henley, Steve Wright, Billy Hicks, Tim Riley, Chris Renner, Chris O'hearn, Wayne Breeden, Al Holland, and Jason Booher coaching the team. (Atleast I don't think none of those guys have coached the team).

 

I believe Steve Wright has coached this game before. The last 4 coaches have been Ron Bevars, Tim Davis, Tim Riley, & Tony Hopper. Hard to make a case that you havent had top coaches based on what they have accomplished. Some coaches turn this job down. It used to be a two-week committment now it is only one week. Most coaches who emphasize summer ball dont want to miss the time with their teams. Jeff Morrow at J-town turned it down for this reason. Unfortunately, this game has lost its prestiege on both sides. Attendance is down and players no longer feel privileged to play in it. I have heard talk of this game changing to Jr's instead of Sr's. Anyone else heard that?
