So those guys can't play because they are small? I would be willing to bet Mosley ends up being a very good OVC player at APSU. Played a lot of good minutes for them this year as a freshman. Maybe you saw the article in the C-J this week about Sloan scoring 45 points in the DII regional championship game and leading his team to the Elite 8. I was just pointing out that those two guys, along with Cox, had a good two day try-out and were much better in the drills/scrimmages than a couple of guards the coaching staff kept, including the one from Apollo that just so happened to play for Coach Hopper. If the team is already decided before try-outs, why try-out?

So who do you remove from the team? You know good and well no coach is going to have an entire line-up of mini players. You also know that perhaps one didn't make the team, not because of height, but attitude.

 

I do agree with you however, that the team is about 90% selected before try-outs with a couple out-in-left-field picks.

I'd assume both Pittman and R. Johnson of Holmes will make it this year as well which would make it two from the same team again.

43 boys chosen for All-Stars tryouts

Eleven players from the Louisville area were among the 43 seniors named Tuesday to try out for the Kentucky All-Star boys' basketball team.

 

Tryouts are set for April 16-17 at Campbellsville University. Kentucky will face the Indiana All-Stars on June11 at Bellarmine University's Knights Hall and June12 at Indianapolis' Conseco Fieldhouse.

 

Ballard (Ian Chiles and Keisten Jones) and Trinity (Josh Sewell and Taylor Epley) both had two players invited to the tryouts. Others invited from the Louisville area were Butler's Thomas Blakemore, Iroquois' Donovan Gibbs, Male's Tony Horne, Jeffersontown's Thomas Jackson, South Oldham's Casey Jackson, Fern Creek's Orlando Rutledge and Manual's Sean Samsel.

 

Mr. Basketball Elisha Justice of state champion Shelby Valley is the only player guaranteed a spot on the team. Covington Catholic's Mike Listerman is the head coach, and Anderson County's Glen Drury is the assistant.

You're Crazy if you think Dakota Euton is going to make the team over Ge-lawn Guyn. Although I'm not a huge fan of the kids he is exactly the type of player that can be effective on a team like this.
