History of the 10th region

Featured Replies

I found out the Sweet 16 started in 1918 - any idea what teams made up the various Regions then. I know many schools have consolidated and names might not be the same.

Am I correct that Harrison Co. hosted the regional in the early 1960's?

I thought that Harrison Co gym was a monster gym back in the mid 50's. I played in a regional tournament there.

Any idea on what 10th region players have gone on to be successful coaches?

Chris O'Hearn comes to mind!

I did too and that was in the 70's. But then the first time I went on the floor as a Junior High (middle school now)at the Montgomery County Barn was awesome. It just kept going up and up. And then a few years later when I actually played at the high school I found out during conditioning that those bleachers did keep going up and up and up.

You all need Sumoroyal he will know about anything on this you want probally..

Have a question about the Maysville Bulldogs. What was the last year that they went to the State Tournament? Who did they beat in the District and Region that year? Who did they play in the State Tournament? Who were the starters? Was it the same tournament that had Farmer vs. Houston? Thanks for any help.

Last time they were 10th Champs was 1988 under Mike Reitz.

Here's one for you. Who hit the buzzer beater in the 1991 Regional final that closed the book on the Bulldog's season for good? What team did he play on?

Mike Case ,(deceased) Pat Moore, (deceased) Chris Wilburn, Jerome Turner, and I beleieve one of the King twins started for Maysville in 1988. They played Larue County and Scott Boley in State Tourney. Same tourney as Farmer and Houston.

I thought you just had a question...not a million of them j/k :sssh:

Lost in state tournament to a LaRue Co. team lead by Scott Boley.

What about Dan Swartz (going way back)?

Jerry Fogle - Harrison County

Was that the last game in Maysville Bulldog history? Who started on that team?

^ I used to have the program from that game, but lost it long ago.:madman:

Wait a minute - memory fails again. It was the program from the final Maysville regular-season game.

Orlando "Crack " Myrick , David Bennett, Galon Thomas, other two has slipped my mind.
