History of the 10th region

Featured Replies

Mike Case ,(deceased) Pat Moore, (deceased) Chris Wilburn, Jerome Turner, and I beleieve one of the King twins started for Maysville in 1988. They played Larue County and Scott Boley in State Tourney. Same tourney as Farmer and Houston.

Did both of these young men die recently?

Did both of these young men die recently?

Sadly Mike Case's life was taken in a auto accident sometime in the 90's. Pat Moore passed away I believe in May of 2002. Two young lives taken way too early.

I played a little (very little, I mostly gathered splinters) rec ball with Pat Moore. I'll probably never meet a better guy.

Other two starters I believe was Jeremiah Jackson and Chris Dearing for the Maysville Bulldogs.

Any idea on what 10th region players have gone on to be successful coaches?[/QUOTE]

Here are a few that come to mind:

Al Bane who played at Maysville and coached at Tollesboro.

Joe Bane who played at Tollesboro and coached at Deming.

Allen Feldhaus, Jr.-- Mason County and Madison Central.

Willie Feldhaus -- Mason Co. and Pendleton Co and Russell Co.

Daniel Brown -- Nicholas Co. and Henry Clay

Jerry Jenkins and Virgil Jenkins -- Harrison Co. and Harrison Co.

Tony Sosby -- Bourbon Co. and Bourbon Co.

Lee Kendall -- Harrison Co. and Pendleton Co. and Harrison Co.

Fred Hester -- Mason Co. and Mason Co.

Chris O'Hearn -- Mason Co. and Nicholas Co. and Mason Co.

Robin Kelsch -- Augusta and Augusta

Chad Persinger -- Bracken Co. and Bracken Co.

Chad Simms -- Mason Co. (??) and Pendleton Co.

All of these guys have/had pretty successful careers as head coaches.

Surely there are others that have been left off this list.

Phillip Wood from Pendleton Co. would be one I would put on that list for sure.

I thought you just had a question...not a million of them j/k :sssh:

Lost in state tournament to a LaRue Co. team lead by Scott Boley.

He knew.

^ I used to have the program from that game, but lost it long ago.:madman:

The memory of it is all you need. I more remember the sadness of the Maysville fans than I do Fogle's driving shot.
