Now this week you can really consider this Spring Football, a little rain expected but cant beat the 60 degree weather.

When is the rest of the state going to demand the dedication that the Birds get from their players and attempt to compete with them?

The Birds could play Friday night and be in mid-season form!!!

Listen to yourself. Do you really think that Dale and staff are the ONLY coaches in the state that demand dedication? I would encourage you to take a sabbatical from HHS football for a year and adopt another program. Get involved. Ask the coach how you can help. And you'll be surprised to find that those coaches work just as hard, have kids that work just as hard. Wait until they start that first spring practice on the parking lot, because the field hasn't repaired itself from last year and the practice field is still slop from the rainy practice in november that left if sitting in puddles. (not to mention the fields are both still wet from the spring thaw.)

Life is a bit different in the "blue collar" town of Ft. Thomas than it is out in the rest of the state.

Make no mistake, what HHS has is special, but it's about WAY more than just the dedication of the players.

Get to the root of what drives the boys to have that kind of dedication and then you'll really have something.

Wow. Get out much? Dedication? Did you hear that coaches, all you have to do is have your boys be dedicated and you will win every game? I wish someone could have told us this before.

Boys wake up at 5am, run before school, lift weights and do agility drills for a couple hours after school, don't miss any practices, go to camps, and be an active part of the team and you will be successful.

Oh, wait, most programs already do that. Must be something else. Next.

Highlands has one of the best off season programs i've ever seen. If you talk to Dale it really just comes down to one thing.. "keeping the kids moving." That simple...

Whoa big fella. I know HHS has been very successful over the last few years. But the day will come when someone knocks them off. Hopefully none too soon. But when it does, hopefully you can take the criticism you are asking for.

When people make these type statements, you open yourself up to the sarcasm attacks. Certain people can get by with them. Some can't. Just ask TBirds!

Oh and for what it's worth, the Birds always look mid-season form in spring ball. It's who they are. Period. The rest will have to figure it out. A couple already have but that's about all.

Really. And what would that be?

I did hear they might start participating in those weight lifting events. Maybe that will propel them to the next level. Add that to their already full workout schedule with spring football, Dale just might ask the kids to skip spring break and stay home to practice. Man, what will they think of next.

That right there will not happen in Ft. Thomas. Even football comes second to the Spring Break ritual. Who knows anything is possible but that would really open up another can of wormies. Yikes!!!!! :thumb:20n10

You guys get way too personal. Cant we all just get along. :thumb:20n10

I personally think it starts with a strong youth football program. I think that helps build programs. I am don't have dog in this fight just one man's opinion. I do think there are A LOT of teams that work hard. Highlands does seem to have the formula in place, its called tradition. Kids in Ft. Thomas grow up wanting to play for the Bluebirds so they start at a young age.
