Holmes and Boone Co will meet Saturday night at 7:30 in a rematch of last year's region championship.

Holmes (24-5) advanced to the semi's with a 59-39 win over Dixie and come in with an 11 game win streak.

Boone Co (19-8) advanced to the semi's by defeating Newcath 41-40 on a last second shot.

Holmes won the regular season meeting in OT at Holmes, 63-57.

Thoughts? Predictions?

Its hard to call because Holmes really looked bored out there tonight in fact they seemed to be bored the entire season.

I think if they shoot like they did tonight and they can stay out of foul trouble then they should be able to handle the REbels.

I like Holmes by 7.

Holmes 58

Boone Co 51

If someone would challenge Holmes, maybe they wouldn't look bored. They have been very sharp and focused in all their tournament games. But when it is clear at half time or sooner that it is over, yeah, you start looking bored.

Boone will probably use the matchup zone a lot against Holmes, hope they lose patience and start forcing shots. My question is how does Boone score against Holmes' defense? With McQueary having a shorter rotation due to the players who quit and playing the zone, I am afraid we may very well see a repeat of last year's grinding 32-29 regional final game.

Boone Co wrnt to their bench last night with 2 sophomores Cooper Downs and Zane Mcqueary and they did a nice job. The departure of the 2 Srs has given these 2 young players a great opportunity. I still think Boone Co is 1 year away from a Regional Championship.

One of these two teams, in an offensive explosion, wins 49-48. Not sure which one.

Very funny CCR, err, CovCathiRadio....

1st quarter:

Holmes - 20

Boone - 19

Final:

Holmes - 37

Boone - 39

Does offensive explosion mean more than 40 points being scored? If so, then this game is just short of an offensive explosion.

Let the midnight special..... shine a light on me....

For those of you predicting a blow out, when is the last time Holmes did that to Boone?

Last year Boone beat them and then lost by two or three in the Region Final. This year Holmes beat them in OT.

This group of Boone kids has a lot of experience against Holmes. I'll be very surprised if it isn't close in the last couple of minutes.

Schulze and Popp quit right before districts began. Two very good defensive players, great speed also.Tough losses for the Rebels, but definetly proved themselves last night with the win over NCC.

If Holmes shoots like they did Thursday night, they win by 10+....if they go cold... it is game on. I'm betting they don't match the previous game shooting performance and it goes down to the buzzer.

Please not a repeat of last year. I heard someone on some thread blame the low score last year on Holmes. I am not buying it but since I was not there I can't say that is not fact.
