Loved All-Star Baseball. My brother and his friends were big time into Strat-o-matic Baseball. He even built a miniature Riverfront Stadium to hold their games. :lol:

My two friends and I used to have a league with Strat-O-Matic football, and formed teams, with each of us as the head coaches. At the end of the "season", we had playoffs, and eventually a Super Bowl. We had decided that the loser of the Super Bowl would play the omitted person, in a Pro Bowl. We had formed two sets of AFC and NFC all-stars, one group would play the first half, the other the second.

 

I won the Super Bowl, so was supposed to be an observer during the Pro Bowl. My one friend (who had the AFC) jumped out to a huge lead (something like 35-3 at halftime), and my other friend was so bummed, he let me finish the second half. Neil Lomax threw something like 5 TD's, and Paul Coffman caught 200+ yards...all in the second half! NFC came back and won, going away. We still laugh about it as the greatest comeback in Strat-O-Matic history. :lol:

My brothers and I played All Star Baseball for years.

Who all remembers the original Rock Em' Sock Em' Robots? Or 'Battling Tops' (I think that was the name - you pulled a string and your spinning piece of plastic battled other people's spinning piece of plastic)? Or hours and hours of playing Electronic Football? Could you imagine kids today playing the electronic football? They'd look at us like we were crazy, then toss it in the garbage.

 

 

Loved it!!! I got one for my son when he was younger, he didn't like it to much, surprise, lol.

 

I would line the guys up in various formations and look at how different offensive plays would work against different defenses. All without ever turning the game "on." I would do this for hours. To this day I still do the same thing everyday but now I carry a notepad with me a doodle the different offenses and defenses.

I used to have some iron plate molds shaped like army men or something. You would pour was into them and make your own army men. Now there's another one for Irwin Mainway! :lol:

 

Does anyone remember the little plastic figures that you had to carve out of a sort of waxy mass? After you carved out the basketball player, football player or whatever it was, you painted them -- or tried to paint them.

I had the smash up derby set.

 

I also had Supertoe. They have a different name for it now and the footballs are soft. The footballs for Supertoe really hurt when you threw them at each other.
