February 22, 201016 yr My brothers and I played All Star Baseball for years. I had one of the later ones, then my next-door neighbor passed along an earlier version of the game that her sons had -- only this one had the punch-out center where you placed the card over top of the spinner.

You would pour was into them and make your own army men. Now there's another one for Irwin Mainway! :lol: Does anyone remember the little plastic figures that you had to carve out of a sort of waxy mass? After you carved out the basketball player, football player or whatever it was, you painted them -- or tried to paint them. Spirograph Viewmaster/Talking Viewmaster/3D Viewmaster And how many people got their annual Halloween costume in a box from Woolworth's? That is a fond memory -- except the part where the rubber band snapped 5 seconds after you put the mask on.) We were stationed in Germany, and I couldn't believe we couldn't purchase a Halloween costume in a box. We had a couple of cute clowns that year.

We also got some of those old cards from my uncle that he played with when he was a kid. They were brown, and we would use some of the old great players along with the modern day guys. Harvey Kuenn was a hitting machine with his card.

But, I'm guessing that it was shortly after Foster won his MVP...because his card was great! Even if your opponent got Hank Aaron or Babe Ruth, you always knew that George was going to be there. Man, now I'm gonna have to give the parents a call and see if they've still got this around the house somewhere. :lol:
