Who would be a good contemporary Superbowl halftime performer?

Featured Replies

And only realistic options here. I love Phish and The String Cheese Incident and wish they could go on stage and Jam out for 20 minutes, but that is not happening. Just like Slayer and Young Jeezy will not be candidates. Who is a realistic option?

Black Eyed Peas, maybe?

Kid Rock

Jay Z. He would put on a good show but he would stay classy and not turn it into anything too vulgar IMO.

John Legend

Eagles

Rascal Flatts

Jay Z

Black Eyed Peas

Foo Fighters

Pearl Jam

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Metallica

I think all of the above could easily fill the necessary time with a medley of their hits, and they all put on an excellent live show.

Coldplay would appeal across several age groups. I believe Kings of Leon would be good.

John Mellencamp. Though I'm guessing he doesn't quite fall into the "contemporary" category.

Gee, I'm not certain I know the names of any contemporary performers. I recognize a couple of names already mentioned in this thread, but not certain I'd recognize any of their songs.

I will also assume Van Halen is not "contemporary."

Van Halen is not contemporary. I was just looking for someone besides the AARP collection we have received as of late.

Foo Fighters

Zach Brown?

Kenny Chesney?

Jimmy Buffett?

If Van Halen doesn't qualify as contemporary, then Jimmy Buffett sure as heck doesn't!! :D

And I think both of those would be absolutely AWFUL choices.

I'm not a huge rap fan but I agree 100 % :thumb:

Jay Z appeals to a lot of people and would keep it clean. He and Beyonce doing the halftime show would be fun.

I like Kings of Leon and they put on a great concert, but I don't think they'd fit the target audience.

The Foo Fighters would be the perfect halftime show, the more I think about it.
