Interesting article. Tubby teams over a team that won 9 games the year before he came and makes them a 21 win team. The next year he then takes them to the NCAA tournament. Yet he has not been doing that good of a job? This year since his starting pg went out, they have slumped big time. Two of their big freshman coming in, have not been able to play.

 

If you look at most of the comments from people on the story, you will see that a lot of people do not agree with him. Then the people who do agree with him, all seemed to bring up Kentucky in their articles putting him down. It seemed like most of the people who agreed with the article were just UK fans, who still just like to say stuff about him. So I think you are wrong in saying that it seems like the people in Minnesota are tiring of Tubby. Most of those bad comments came from still UK fans. You see only one or two where a person says we are getting tired of him, or anything of that sort. Most of them you see them saying when he was here at UK, or wait till he has his own players like at UK. Most of those bad comments seemed like they were posted by UK fans. Which is not to hard to believe because UK fans are everywhere, and especially the Tubby bashers who were waiting for some kind of article like this to try to jump back in on.

We are now in the third season with the costly and much praised Tubby Smith in charge, and it's sad to report the roster has taken on a Monson-like quality.

 

That has been a too familiar theme with Smith's 2009-10 roster. For close to $2 million annually, Tubby's employers have a right to see a level of improvement in the athletes that offers no reminders of Coach Monson.

Don't act like its one sided. There seem to be Minnesota threads every time they manage a win. They're not as prevalent now that UK is winning, but they were all over the place while BCG was still around.
