January 27, 201016 yr Bottomline for me is UK lost to a team that is going to struggle to make any type of postseason play. A horrible lose, but one that they can afford this year. It always seems like they have a tendency to get snake-bitten by a team that has no business being on the same floor with them. Last year it was Georgia, this year South Carolina. Hopefully they put it behind them and move on. They won 19 in a row before losing this one, I see no reason they can't go 20 straight from here on out...
January 27, 201016 yr Downey is a perfect example why Bledsoe and Wall need to work on their jump shot and quickness of thier release. Blazing quickness doesn't beat you in the half court when teams can sluff off of you. I think one important note that we saw from SC was the fact they played us Man up last night for the majority of the game. First time we had seen that approach in some time and I thought our Man offense or lack there of showed. I think it's funny, but old Billy Clyde's high low would work pretty well with Patterson and Cousins.

That's because its hard for a team with UK's talent level to consistently stay motivated to play against teams like South Carolina. Its the same reason that terrible UK football teams used to play a couple of the big dogs down to the wire in football every year. That's also why I've believed from the start that UK's loss(es) in conference play would be to team(s) like South Carolina, and not teams like Tennessee and Florida. They're going to be motivated for those games, and if they are, its very unlikely that they'll lose, IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped another game before the season is over, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. It depends on how much they learned from this one.
January 27, 201016 yr John Wall is over-rated. Well, it is hard to be underated when you are rated by most as the top incoming freshman in America and maybe the top player in the nation.

January 27, 201016 yr Didn't Horn also beat UK while he was at WKU? If PP gets back involved, UK improves 20% (OK, maybe 19.23%) What about a little high-low with PP and Cousins? Bledsoe and Wall need to understand this is not high school or AAU ball now and quit driving to the basket and getting hung up with no place to go. It is now up to Cal to keep the chemistry of the team good with no finger-pointing or whining over lost playing time. Sometimes a loss gets everyone on edge. I thought the refs protected Downey a little.

They now have one loss -- As does every other team in the country... Except the ones that have more. I don't see any reason to feel ashamed or embarassed as a fan after this loss. I haven't read through the prediction threads, so I'm not sure what others were saying... But the consensus I heard yesterday from all of the people that I work with is that we all were very worried about last night's game and figured that it could very well be the first loss. It was, and we've since moved on. I anticipate you will likely combat this with how you just love watching UK fans like me get riled up about your posts and that's why you do it... But I'm not riled up, I just think it's silly.
