What Would, Or Wouldn't, You Eat?

Featured Replies

I ate squirrel and rabbit all the time, when I was young. You kill it. You eat it. Having said that, I can take or leave venison. Same goes with most wild hog. Had bear burgers once.

Mountain Oysters aren't bad. Frogs legs are great. Ostrich is stringy, to me.

One of my grandfathers made a killer turtle soup, which I really liked. The other loved brains and eggs for breakfast, I've never tried it though.

I've had raw oysters on the half shell, but unless I'm really drunk and have a lot of hot sauce, they come right back up. I won't eat meat or fish raw, which rules out most sushi. The texture of raw or under cooked tuna makes me hurl.

I love escargot and had me a mess of gator bytes last Saturday night at the Tarpon Turtle.

BTW, most sausages are encased in small intestines. Think about that when having a Brat at the next home game. :D

"I'm tired of all the nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep. That's deep enough. What do you want - an adorable pancreas?"

I've never had the pleasure.

So, how many on here have watched the "Bizarre Foods" show on the Travel Channel with Andrew Zimmern?

Watch it religiously. All I can say is that the dude most assuredly passes some toxic gas.

Does anyone else watch the show "Taboo" on Nat Geo? I taped an episode this week about misfits in society and part of it was about some guy in England. He is worried about the earth's population and it's dependency for meat. He doesn't depend on the market for his meat, he picks up road kill and what he finds he dines on. It showed him picking up a badger and some birds from the highways and later on the show he made a stew out of some of the treats in his deep freeze. The stew consisted of a seagull, an owl a rabbit and his prized posession, a badger head. He had planned to use the badger he had found for the stew but it was rotten, it showed him disecting it and he stated it was the worst badger he had ever found. His deep freeze was filled with frozen roadkill.

Anything that is an internal organ is a no for me.

Me too.

Unless it tastes good.
