January 5, 201016 yr Author The National Weather Service say a Winter Storm Watch maybe issued for Central Kentucky and the Bluegrass area later today. As of now, the preliminary predictions is 4 inches across the our area. There is a possibility of even more accumulation in some areas.
January 5, 201016 yr Been snowing since early Monday morning in Eastern Kentucky... Not a lot on the ground that I can see, but I've heard some of the higher elevations have up to 5 inches. It's a real fine powdery snow, thankfully.. Not like what we had a few weeks ago, and I could not be more thankful for that.
January 5, 201016 yr Get a load of this. It's currently 39 here. We haven't been above 50 the last few days, either. Having just got back from up there, it seems colder here. The problem is that the humidity is staying above 70%. It's a different kind of cold. Chills you to the bone, if you stay out in it. It's been more than 20 years since it was this cold here, for this length of time. Global warming??? Good luck with the storm guys.

January 5, 201016 yr I'm hoping we actually get some snow this time! Hopefully the roads will get cleared off quickly though because we have to take my daughter to IUPUI in Indy to swim on Saturday and Sunday. I'm not worried about up there, it is getting through Kentucky that worries me.

January 5, 201016 yr Author A Winter Storm Watch has now been issued for much of Kentucky. It still includes Western Kentucky as issued this morning.
January 5, 201016 yr We had some snow here in McCreary County on Sunday night - an inch or two that put a little covering on everything. It was the fine, powdery stuff as well. It has been flurrying ever since then. I think we're right below this next patch of snow.
