Maybe they can rest the defense and keep the starters on offense in the game. The offense could practice and if the subs on defense couldn't stop the Jets we could get the best of the situation. Offense tunes up but the Jets win 45 to 38.:thumb:

Silly as it sounds I think your idea has merit.

Am I the only one that is terrified of Houston?

I have mixed feelings. Their offense scares me but I like the Bengals chances against their defense.

I'm not sure about Slaton, but I do know Owen Daniels is out. Together they had almost 200 yds recieving and 3 TDs against the Bengals. Without them, especially Daniels, the Texans O is not quite as formidable against the Bengals

I understand the many reasons why the Bengals may throw in the towel but in my opinion they have been so inconsistent on offense I think they need to go all out to win and generate consistency.

Week 17 seems a little late to be generating consistency.

Woodley is an idiot. Pittsburgh needs to worry about taking care of their own business. The game in Miami is not a gimme.

As a Bengals fan, I don't really care who we play in the playoffs. I'd prefer not to play a divisional opponent first, but we're already 4-0 against them. No reason to think we can't go 5-0, or even 6-0. Especially if Ed Reed and/or Polamalu are out. It's playoff football and you're going to be facing a good team each week. The Bengals have already proven that they can play with the best of the best this year. Whether or not that translates into postseason success remains to be seen, but our style of football is perfectly suited for January.

I don't think the Jets and their QB can put up 45 against your backups.:thumb:

Well I don't know if the offense can put up 38 against the Jets either.:lol:

No I am too. I'd like them to play the Jets, Broncos, or Steelers personally.

So since the Bengals haven't been consistent are you saying they should just forgo this opportunity to improve against the Jets and roll the dice in the playoffs?

My son and I had this conversation earlier today. When your team goes into playoffs it needs to be playing it's best ball. To ask your team to turn it off for a game then back on the next? I personally don't like it, I understand some of the reasoning but if your on a roll "roll on".

If Cincy loses this weekend, that is losing 3 of 4. No one wants to go into the playoffs limping...

If the Bengals throw in the towel that is not good momentum going into the playoffs and it would be nice to develop some rythym heading into the 1st round.

Even if they rest the starters? Certainly there are exceptions to your "limping in" rule.

Losing 3 of 4 is not an exception. You can't go into the playoffs, expecting to compete, like that.

I agree with those that think the Bengals should play to win the game (Herm).

I don't think the Bengals should be worried about who they play...they should take care of themselves. That means not risking injury unnecessarily. If that means Team X is in the playoffs instead of Team Y, so be it.
