Glad he is thinking of his family and his health. But I wonder about his contract, how can they work this out, $5 Million to staple papers and paying a coach to coach? Presser tomorrow, not sure of time.

I've seen awful things posted and said about coaches of the programs I love, but this takes the cake.

The cyst has been there since his days as a receivers coach at ND. Its not new and its not a secret.

 

True, SI ran a feature story on Meyer a couple weeks ago and discussed this issue. However, this heart thing is an even bigger dea and Meyer just realized there is more to life than football.

Well now I believe that the next OSU coach will be Meyer. If he's regains his health I think he only jumps back into coaching for OSU, Michigan or ND.

Who does UF turn too? Do they go the assistant route and hire Mullen or Strong. I kind of doubt it, I'd say they want a proven guy. Maybe go back to Utah and get Kyle Whittingham. Or, they get another SEC guy, and a guy they seriously looked at when they hired Meyre... Bobby Petrino???

If all this is true and he is stepping down because of health reasons then good for him and he just gained my respect...

I'd like to call that poetic justice after thinking about the BK situation. A guy who is going to be that slimey about reaching his dream job isn't easy for me to root for. I wouldn't mind to see BK get the Billie Gillispie treatment and get booted after year 2. :thumb:

I hope that Coach Meyer's health improve, and wish him success if he decides to resume coaching, whether that be with Florida, or somewhere else. This is shocking, I can't imagine what his players, coaches, and other people associated with that program are feeling.

SSC, like I said I was thinking outloud, keep your comments off me. I was showing no disrespect to the Coach, just pointing out things by being honest, but you missed that, and your the only poster to make a comment about patting myself on the back.

Sorry to hear this,really did like Coach Meyer a Classic act,I'm just sorry to see him go as the Florida Coach.

I hope his health issues will be resolve,the best to Coach Meyer.

As Florida fan will really miss Coach Meyer. Hope whatever issues he has with his health will turn out allright. Best of luck Coach.
