UC's Next Coach

OMG, this UC stuff is getting as gargantuan as when KY was looking for BCGs replacement. Seg Dennison just reported on WLW radio, via Bearcat Lair, that Mike Shanahan, who is good friends with UCs AD Thomas, has contacted UC about their vacancy.

Those BCL guys don't know anything...

Are we absolutely sure a call was not made from Clifton to Ft. Thomas?

It couldn't happen...if Kerry Coombs and Dale Mueller simultaneously walked into Nippert, the entire stadium would drown in ego.

I'd say there's about a 4% chance that any NFL guys come to UC, and that is probably too high. Why would they?

I think Butch Jones & Skip Holtz would both be great fits.

Well it is a high paying job that might be easier than the NFL game.

It's not high paying compared to others they could get.

I still think it's Butch Jones (rumor has it he is chasing the Marshall job too). I'd say if UC offers it, he takes it.

Seems like Quinn has a good shot too.

2 or 2.5 million is high paying in my book for 10-11 games of work.

With recruiting and spring practice, a college job is probably more work.

They could go get twice that much in the NFL.

With the draft and OTA's = spring practice its about the same length. The good college coaches have recruiters. College is not a bad gig, some coaches prefer to coach the guys who walk to pratice rather than driving Bentleys to practice.

From Twitter:

schadjoe: Temple' Al Golden has removed himself from Cincinnati's search and is no longer a candidate

I didn't know he was a candidate???

I am very happy about this.

As I said in another thread things are moving very quickly now and UC is in negotiations with their #1 target. Could be done as early as tomorrow and likely to be all over including the presser by Thursday. Quinn and the rest of the staff will stay in place and coach the Sugar Bowl...

Any chance it'll be leaked before then GT? How sure does this look?
