I would love to see that matchup. However two teams to watch out for in the playoffs that could spoil these two teams even winning a game in the playoffs are the Cardinals and the Packers. As long as Warner is healthy this team very easily could go to the Super Bowl again, and well the Packers seem to be pass blocking better now. So that is a team that in the playoffs could be a very tough team to beat.

Total domination on both sides of the ball. Drew Brees is so good because he drops back and releases the ball as quick as any quarterback in the league. Not to mention he's deadly accurate. His offensive line barely works at all on pass plays.

Yes, I enjoyed that, too! I absolutely loathe Tom Brady and I'm always glad to see him on the losing side.

I feel like Brady seemed to be a little off tonight. He had open players on several players and either couldn't find them or totally over threw them. There are two distinct plays at least that I'm thinking about.

 

I think Brady has been a "off" all season. He's been improving as the season has progressed, but he still doesn't look as sharp as the guy I watched prior to the knee injury.

 

I also feel like New England gets a little impatient at times offensively...it seems like Brady forces some throws down the field on occasion, perhaps because they've become accustomed to the big play.

 

I'm not talking about some of the throws late when they were trying to play catch-up. That's understandable.

 

Regardless, I still like their chances in the playoffs, assuming Brady continues to improve over the next month. I don't think the defense is as bad as some do...Brees was on fire last night. Nobody could have stopped some of the throws and catches the Saints made last night. And, the Saints offense has done that to pretty much everybody they've played.

 

New Orleans is averaging 42.3 points per game against teams above .500.

 

They're averaging 37 per game for the season and their lowest point total is 24.

 

I think Brady getting all the way back is the key for New England. Their offense is great still and he's had some hot games where they've went off, but there are also times when he's out of sync. Their defense is solid, but not great. They need Brady to be sharp so that offense will be nearly unstoppable.

Saints are for real. I don't see anyone beating them in them in New Orleans. They are on a different level in the dome. Best team in the NFL IMO.

Listening the analysts and commentators last night, I found all the comments about New Orleans sending a message and proving they belong, and Drew Brees wanting to prove he belongs (with Brady and Manning I suppose) comical.

 

Who doubted the Saints? They're undefeated, averaging nearly 40 points per game with a strong defense. Was there anybody who felt like they weren't a real contender...anybody who felt like they needed to beat New England to prove they were a good team?

 

As for Brees, he's now 3-0 in head-to-head matchups with Brady. If you want to prove you "belong", win a ring. Nobody doubts Brees' greatness. But, regular season numbers don't get you in the discussion with Brady and Manning. That's why, regardless of how many yards and TD's he throws for, until he wins a Super Bowl, every unbiased QB list will have him no higher than third.

 

He's got a great chance to insert his name into the discussion. The Saints and Vikings, to me, have looked a little better than anyone else I've seen. If those two meet in the NFC Championship, as expected, it should be a great game.

Well lets see here. Out of the last 5 years, one year he just played on a really bad football team. I think they went 5 and 11, so yeah he didn't do that great then. He then also took his team to the NFC Championship game, where they lost in overtime. So yeah that is wearing down and not doing good, even though you led your team to the NFC Championship. Last year with the Jets he was doing great until he injury. He had that team as a winning team, how are the Jets doing this year?

 

Also take a look at one similar thing about things at the end of years. He played in Green Bay and New York. Whats the weather like at the end of the year? Pretty cold in those places, and its not as easy to throw the ball. So numbers do go down, and well since he was older it did make it a little harder for him to do as good in the cold as when he was younger. This year though he plays in a dome. So they don't have to worry about bad weather. Then in the playoffs in the NFC he won't be playing a single game outside. Any game possible will be him playing in a dome. Either at Minnesota or at New Orleans. He won't be having to worry about bad weather at all this year at the end of the year. So I wouldn't be so sure if I was you about him wearing down and numbers going down as much this year.
