November 30, 200916 yr Sagarin had UC 6th in their computer rankings with a slightly better SOS then TCU and Boise State. Actually Oregon is ahead of them in his overall ratings. The BCS uses his ELO-Chess formula which has UC 3rd. Is the poll voting hurting UC in some form? Its unlikely they get a shot at the title game anyway, is it the possibility they miss the Sugar Bowl the argument?

How many Big 10 coaches vote in the coaches poll? How many Big East coaches? I'm saying the votes with a guaranteed spot (Big 11, SEC, ACC, Big 12, Pac 10) are going to do all they can to protect the $$$ as best as they can. That, to the core, is the flaw in the system, and from top to bottom is what prevents a playoff. It's a lot like breaking down who gets into the field of 64 in hoops and how they get seeded once you examine who is in the selection room that year...

November 30, 200916 yr The first place Big Ten team (OSU) lost at home to the current tied for 3rd Pac 10 team. The current first place BE team (UC) won on the road at the current 2nd place Pac 10 team. But I thought UC winning at Oregon St wasn't a big win. At least that's what people on here said. IF and it's a big IF, but if they win the Pac 10 would that qualify it as a big win?

A loss to to Pitt will cost UC a BCS bowl game because of their inability to fill seats and the limited TV draw. It has nothing to do with where they are ranked, strength of schedule, etc.

November 30, 200916 yr UC should be in a BCS GAME regardless of the Pitt game result. Well Ok St lost their play in game by 4 TD's so now it will probably be Iowa. Texas litterally has the worst resume I can remember for a team in the title game and LSU lost 2 games a couple years ago.
November 30, 200916 yr I actually believe that UC should be in as well...win or lose....I just don't think that it is going to happen, thought OK St. losing sure helped.
