UT exploited Micah Johnson in pass coverage on 3 occasions and where was he on the game winning run? A big time player cannot let himself get taken out of the play that easily.

Honest to God, I trust Will more throwing than I trust Morgan at this point. And Fidler was not given nearly the chance Morgan was given.

Fidler: 20/41 - 48.8% - 4.5ypa

 

I'll take Newton any day, but he wasn't having a good game, and Cobb was working. No reason to take it out of Cobb's hands.

But The Defense did mess up maybe the biggest play of the game by giving up a first down on a 3rd and 18 play...That is flat out terrible...

I sure wouldn't. To me the difference is negligible. You look at YPA, I look at YPC. They're almost exactly the same in that category. I'd rather have a guy that has spent years in the program than a true freshman. But that's right now. I recognize the very real benefits in the future of having Newton in right now. But he simply doesn't do much for them at this point.

 

I guess I should say I'd just plain rather have Cobb in full time, or every bit as long as he can go.

If your LB's can't cover a TE they shouldn't be in the SEC or think they can play in the NFL.

I don't think there's any argument for Fidler based on what he showed on the field. Newton has the better stats, including the better TD/Int ratio.

I simply don't believe he was given all that much of an opportunity on the field. Before the Georgia game, Newton had a 2:3 TD:INT ratio. The Georgia game has been Newton's crowning moment thus far. Outside of that game he has been completely awful.

Newton is the better option - he was 5-2 as a starting QB for Kentucky this season. With proper game-planning, adjustments and play-calling - he could've been 7-0.

He's not great, which is why Cobb should have had the ball. He is better than Fidler (now) and will grow. He's just got to get his long throws down some.
