November 29, 200916 yr KSR said that Phillip Fulmer and Mike Leach are both going to garner consideration. I'm not a big fan of either, but I think they'd both be an upgrade over Krags... Former arch rival coach, and former offensive Coordinator. UK better enjoy wins over U of L now because they wont be coming for a while.

November 29, 200916 yr Fulmer is not the guy I want. He is at the end of his career. I won't someone who has drive and can score points.
November 29, 200916 yr I think Sumlin would be far and away the best fit for Louisville, and has the best potential for quicking turning the trainwreck that Kragthorpe created around.
November 29, 200916 yr I can't see UofL hiring Fulmer. That'd be a mistake in my opinion. He's a dinosaur.

November 30, 200916 yr I know my 2 cents makes all the difference in the world. but I would like a coach that has John L's personality and Bobby Petrino's mind. Is that alot to ask????:laugh:
November 30, 200916 yr My only question with Sumlin is....Can he recruit in the South? In my opinion you have to get the Florida kids to be successful at the Ville.

November 30, 200916 yr I think Sumlin would be far and away the best fit for Louisville, and has the best potential for quicking turning the trainwreck that Kragthorpe created around. Remember....He currently is a conference USA coach. You know what conference Kraigthorpe came from.....
November 30, 200916 yr I don't think that is necessarily true. Do you check Petrino's roster? I would say at least 50 kids from Florida.
November 30, 200916 yr Author Do you check Petrino's roster? I would say at least 50 kids from Florida. Sure he recruited well there and UL has a decent history of recruiting in Florida. There is plenty of talent in the south without having to nail Florida to be good.
November 30, 200916 yr Sure he recruited well there and UL has a decent history of recruiting in Florida. There is plenty of talent in the south without having to nail Florida to be good. Florida does have the most fertile recruting ground, and what seems to be like the best athletes. Other southern schools with strong home recruting bases go in there as well, look at UGA, LSU, and even USC tried to get in on a few players this season. Florida is essential IMO, for programs on the Eastern half of the United States if they want to be relevant. WVU, Michigan, OSU are all setting up pipelines there, ND was trying to get in this year with Charlie Weis, Clemson comes in and gets players and the list goes on and on. Successful recruiting in Florida is necessary for who ever takes over the U of L job IMO. I do know that one of the stats (maybe Alabama??) was a strong hold of Petrino and Krags didn't bring in a single player from that state during his tenure. It may not be Alabama, but it was one of the southern states.
