Kragthorpe out at Louisville

Original Rookie

John L left the Cards after doing very well.

Bobby left for the NFL after again doing very well.

Howard left for the Sooners after beating Bama (7-5) and doing very well.

Cards get a coach and in two years go 9-3/10-2 and where does that coach go to?

Someone mention Stepping Stone?

Coach K turns it around and he stays with the Cards.

Jurich cut his own throat.

Yeah he said one BCS team offensive coordinator job I want to know who? I know he'll coach again soon, but I'm think another C-USA or MAC school.

Rumor is LSU may hire him to run their offense. That just seems odd...

When did Coach K turn something around? The only thing he turned around was the winning the school was doing before he got there. They had been to 9 straight bowl games, he gets here and goes to 0 in three years.

He was saying HAD he turned it around, he would have stayed. He doesn't think that Kragthorpe looked at it as a stepping stone, but as a job for the long-haul.

No way of ever knowing that. They all say they aren't leaving. But coaches, like most people, always think the grass is greener on the other side. Of course any coach we hire is going to say that, but history tells us that we are a stepping stone job. I think Jurich may of tried to look for a long-haul hire last time, and it backfired. And this day and age, you have to win and win quick. As unfair and harsh as it sounds, it's all about winning.

I honestly wanted Krag to succeed. But it just wasn't going to work. He seemed like a great guy, he just didn't hit it off with the fanbase from day one and really never produced anything to excite the fans or city. Who really knows why, he was a hot name when Jurich got him. But he never meshed Louisville.

I think he'll go on to be a great OC somewhere again.
