Come up with another maybe b/c that one was not close. #2 had his hands on #7 for Bell as soon as he saw he was beat. IMO that is a heads up play. Could have easily been 6 instead he risked the penalty. #7 just made a heck of a play.

 

I don't think their is a helmet to helmet in HS in the sense you are saying? But the hit was with shoulder anyway.

 

No excuses just saying maybe? Pretty weak call IMO. Never the less Boyle won and is on the way to Bowling Green they have have a great team and program. :clap:

The defender was all over him. I was on the Boyle Co. side too. It was an amazing play. The right call was made IMO.

I think the "unnecessary ruffness" call on the hit by Madon was ludicrous and made by the wrong official who was mayby coerced into the call by the sidelines. A definate momentum changer. It happens. But all said, I think we played flat. The Boyle team played with heart and really brought it in the second half. The Boyle team showed class as well as the fans I encountered. One note though. The coaching staff and administation showed zero class and acted childishly over Bell wanted to erect their runthrough helment. Now that's low class. Congrats Boyle and good luck in BG.

I for one was glad that the Refs let the kids decide the game on the field. #7 made a great catch for Bell and the call could have gone either way, but it didn't. The late hit was another call that was close. Every game has close calls like this.

Bell has an inflatable helment they erect pre-game and all the boys get inside and run out of. The helment crew, which assembles at all of Bell's games, home and away, were informed by a courteous law enforcement official, that the helment was to be put in the bag and not to be blown up. Now that's rather childish in my opinion. This is part of Bell's tradition and is done for the boy's. Word was sent out first by Coach French to get it off the field, and it was removed from the corner of the endzone to outside the hedges. Then the law inforcement came over and commented the athletic director sent them to inform the helment crew that it was to be put up. First place to ever reject it. Sad sportsmanship.

Do you mean in BG? Maybe, maybe not. We're talking about a university compared to a simple high school field. The helment is erected for all of 90 seconds then deflated and put up. The Boyle admin. said they didn't care. Just put it up.

If I keep arguing about this I will be as childish as the ones who denied our helment crew. So good luck to the Rebels this weekend.

I don't blame Boyle one bit. It's our place and not our job to make Bell feel at home. Why would we want to see this on our field?

Your right. Both teams played a great game and deserved to win. Its just a tough one to swallow because Bell had their opportunities and didn't capitalize, and Boyle Co. didn't capitalize on all their opportunities either. I hope to see Boyle Co. on Log Mountain next year for another classic!
