Your right. Both teams played a great game and deserved to win. Its just a tough one to swallow because Bell had their opportunities and didn't capitalize, and Boyle Co. didn't capitalize on all their opportunities either. I hope to see Boyle Co. on Log Mountain next year for another classic!

As so do we. Bell County should be the heavy favorite to win 4A next year. I agree that it would have to be hard to swallow as Boyle County swallowed a good chunk last year. We all have our excuses but the in the end, Boyle County won and the referee's did not have a say in the outcome.

1 ta 1. Ky knows that the Beasts are from the East. This will be the best rivalry game from the east for years to come.:taz:

Bell has an inflatable helment they erect pre-game and all the boys get inside and run out of. The helment crew, which assembles at all of Bell's games, home and away, were informed by a courteous law enforcement official, that the helment was to be put in the bag and not to be blown up. Now that's rather childish in my opinion. This is part of Bell's tradition and is done for the boy's. Word was sent out first by Coach French to get it off the field, and it was removed from the corner of the endzone to outside the hedges. Then the law inforcement came over and commented the athletic director sent them to inform the helment crew that it was to be put up. First place to ever reject it. Sad sportsmanship.

Sorry about that but it was not your home field. Personally what you are calling poor sportsmanship I would label arrogance. Kind of like entering the field on the same side as the home team. Be thankful the camera crew and coaches were allowed in the press box after last year Boyle was not allowed to at Log Mountain.

To Boyle County fans: Bell County doesn"t discriminate they make every visiting team film coaches and all in the away bleachers. Very bad accomadations when there is a big press box.

To Bell County fans: How on earth did you realistically expect Boyle County to allow you to put up a helmet on their field in the semis? It is home field advantage for a reason and what is wrong with filming on the away side your team makes their opponents film the same way. Again it is nothing but pure arrogance from some fans to expect Boyle to let you act like a home game. Bell Co. Fans know they strive off of intimidation and that us exactly why they ran out next to Boyle, it is all about timing when coming out of the lockerroom after a huge pregame speech from Coach Hilton. Bell knows how to win no doubt and those measures help but you can't expect it on the road.

I don't know about the helmet situation but as far as the pressbox goes. I don't know what you are talking about huge pressbox at Bell have you been in it. The Bell Coaches are standing on a hazard. Most people at Bell would agree that they would love to have a great pressbox.

Good point. I noticed that Boyle's pressbox was four sections...absolutely double the size of the Bell County pressbox. Bell's administration needs to fix this! But Bell has bleachers nearly the same size as the home and just as nice on the visitor's side. Boyle's was equivalent of a lot of 1-A schools in our area.

When the kids are put first and politics put aside, all schools could benefit. Sports keeps a lot of kids in school and give them incentive to do well. Some don't see it that way, hence are against any funding for sports. We have been asking for a new press box for over ten years. I guess when it falls off the bleachers and hurts someone or one of the coaches falls through the roof, it will be considered. Our apologies to visiting teams. Maybe one day our little team will be noticed and someone will say, "ahh give them back a little of that coal money and build them a new pressbox. hehe

Hey, that helmet was sweet!!

We just got an Aaron's in Danville. Wonder if they would sponsor a big Rebel helmet?? Someone needs to get on that.

Wow good suggestion. That would be nice! When does Aaron's open? If it hasn't already.

Good point just ask Boyle's radio announcer from last year about one of the lights crashing on his head. It is very unsafe I wish a big puff of wind would put it over at Bell Central and then maybe we could get one.

To whomever is interested...Alcoa just won their 6th state title in a row beating Milan 21-0.
