November 28, 200916 yr If Weis resigns, leaving $18 million, or any buyout money, lying on the table, I'll have to wonder about him. My guess is he'll force the buy out.
November 28, 200916 yr Brian Billick's name surfaced during the Auburn/Bama game today. That would be a shocker.
November 28, 200916 yr Talked to someone VERY in the know on the national scene for a while today and he doesn't think BK is as high on the list as most people seem to believe. It sounds like they want a strong defensive coach first and foremost and that Stoops is apparently at the top of the list... Its funny you mention that. I was going to post that ND might be hesitant to bring in an offensive guru whose teams have given up tons of points on national TV.

I said those exact same words watch UC yesterday. We have a coach that puts up big numbers and gives up big numbers.
November 28, 200916 yr Here is Knute's List. 1. Meyer 2. Gruden 3. Holtz(Lou) 4. Stoops 5. Paul Johnson 6. Rex Ryan 7. Pete Carroll This is a good list, show them the money and see what happens.

I hate to say it, but I think only one would take that job, and that might be Paul Johnson. Gruden will stay at ESPN and then jump back to the NFL. Stoops might consider, but it would be stretching. Meyer and Carroll will not leave Florida or USC for ND. Why would Ryan leave his HC at NYJ for a HC in college? And Holtz would not return just because of his age. The choices have to be Kelly, Peterson, and TCU coach.

Meyer has a lot leaving In Gruden's book he talks about ND being his dream job Lou is not as old as Bobby and Joe Paul J bring back the option -easier to recruit that talent the rest proven winners- those others you listed are hot but have they done it over time

Peterson is always winning at Boise State, year after year. TCU Coach has turned that program around and they're winning at a very high clip. And Kelly turned around two programs and is now winning like crazy at Cincinnati. So yes, they are proven, I would venture to say.
November 29, 200916 yr My "source" says Kragthorpe is the next coach Well I hope your "source" is wrong....

If I were ND I'd hope for either Meyer or BK, but I would gladly settle for Petersen if I were in their situation.
November 29, 200916 yr The press is really denying the Stoops/Urban theory. Any severely pushing the BK theory. When do you think the announcement of Weis bieng let go will come about? As early as tommorrow? Or early in the upcoming week?
