November 25, 200916 yr I think the Job will go to Jim Harbaugh and not BK- no inside info, just a gut feeling I like Harbaugh at ND. I think it's a good fit.
November 25, 200916 yr Saw a report where he had planned on recruiting after the Stanford game and was told to come on back to South Bend. Come on up Urban... I'm sure all Alabama fans are praying that happens.
November 25, 200916 yr I didn't think that Notre Dame red shirted any football players unless they were injured.. I thought I heard somewhere that Notre Dame does not red-shirt.
November 25, 200916 yr On ESPN this morning Notre Dame's AD said that Weis was coming back to South Bend after this Saturday's game. Sure, he's got a lot of packing to do!
November 25, 200916 yr I thought I heard somewhere that Notre Dame does not red-shirt. That is true they do not. The 5 year graduation program does not exist at Notre Dame. Some players may be who have eligibility remaining may be granted the ability to play football during a 5th season on campus, but in order to do so they must have obtained a degree and be accepted into a ND grad school program.
November 25, 200916 yr GT, what is your gut telling you? BK gone? As of today I think he stays at UC...
November 26, 200916 yr On ESPN they said ND was looking at Stoops. Would Bobby even consider? IMO Stoops would leave in a heart-beat to ND. What more can he do at OU? He has no where to go but down there IMO. As of today I think he stays at UC... He didn't totally shut it down in that press conference. I think he probably leaves if he gets offered the ND job at the right time and gets a fair deal. No inside knowledge, I just don't think he can or will turn it down. He can do great things at UC, but restoring ND back to prominence will put him on the Mt. Rushmore of modern coaches IMO. UC has to fight for respect, ND is given too much. No chance he would be undefeated and left out of the title game at ND, IMO.

As I have said before, there is more to the choice than football that might very well keep him here for a while. Out of respect for his personal life, I will never get into that on a public forum, but those reasons are very real. Also BK has never come out and said he isn't interested in any other job because he's a very smart man and knows it's a source of leverage that works to his advantage. He did the same stuff with Tennessee, Washington, UCLA and several others since he has been at UC and the end result was a new deal for him and all of his assistants plus the fast track on raising the funds for the practice facility (construction starts next week). I'm not saying he will turn down ND for certain if they come calling, but it is not the lock many are trying to make it out to be at this point...

You're closer to the situation than most, so we'll have to take your word for it.:thumb:

After hearing what I was told by my uncle last night, regarding non-football issues, I'd say there's a good chance he stays put...
November 27, 200916 yr Talked to someone VERY in the know on the national scene for a while today and he doesn't think BK is as high on the list as most people seem to believe. It sounds like they want a strong defensive coach first and foremost and that Stoops is apparently at the top of the list...
