November 16, 200916 yr The more I think about it, the less opposed to it I am. I am just hesitant to add him. Will he be able to learn the playbook quickly enough to contribute? If he's healthy, there's no doubt that he could help out. I just don't trust the Bengals' front office to handle this properly.

I'd imagine he knows that he has a chance to contribute and if the Bengals are up - front with him about his role on the team, it shouldn't be an issue. It's up to the Bengals' front office to work this one out before it happens. Whether or not they're capable of doing that remains to be seen. Their track record leads me to believe that they won't be able to.

Pass to Gonzo or give it to Larry. However, from a business stand point it is a good deal. You buy a $1.00 scratch off ticket and sometimes you win 20K. Do you really want to compare the veteran leadership of the '09 Bengals w/ what the Patriots had had in place for THREE Super Bowl wins and great continuity among its leaders? That's the difference. The Patriots had a blue print and if you didn't follow it, you were gone. The Bengals may have one in place, but judging on past history they have a hard time saying good bye to a bad person.
November 16, 200916 yr I am really on the fence on this but we need another big back that can take 15-20 carries if they have to. We can't keep giving Ced the ball 30-35 times a game and expect him to hold up. One wrong move from LJ and he is gone simple as that.

The Bengals are basically signing a guy to fill in and gain the tough yards against some of the worst teams in the league while our stud rests up. And who knows? Maybe LJ (and I think he will) will succeed on this Bengals team. I would have complained being in KC too. Also, LJ is not dumb enough to start demanding carries. He knows his place.

November 17, 200916 yr I understand the obvious opposition to the move as it regards team and clubhouse chemistry. However, the Bengals are thinking like a playoff-bound team. Ced has already rushed 205 times this year, he only had 214 last year. The Bengals will be heavy favorites in 5 of the remaining 7 games. They may have leads, or just choose to grind it out against teams that can't stop the run. Why not let some fresh legs carry some of the burden, and allow Ced to be more rested for the money games or the playoffs.
