Larry Johnson a Bengal??

Featured Replies

Only Milton got a stupid amount of money and Johnson is getting the minimum.

Unfortunately a cancer is a cancer--no matter how much money he is making. There is a reason nobody wants Johnson on their team. I'm not a Bengals fan, but I sure as heck wouldn't want a head case in the locker room messing up this team's chemistry.

Disagree. Milton could've slugged Pinella this year and not been dumped because of his contract. Johnson on the other hand can simply be dumped if he starts anything.

Well, good luck with him. I'm not saying it is the same, I said it was similar. People argued for the benefits of Bradley, too. It could work out and all will be great.:thumb:

Coming into the final seven game with four of them being against lesser squads, I have no problem with this. They aren't looking to replace Ced, but having a proven guy get some carries and letting him rest up is a good idea.

Signing for the league minimum is a good thing for the Bengals. Low risk high reward.

Weren't you the one who said his release by KC couldn't have happened to a better guy? I guess it's different now that the Bengals are involved.

Yes, I was actually. It couldn't have happened to a better guy I was exactly right. I also feel like going from being a top dog in the league to signing for the minimum can humble a guy and shut him up.

You can also tell from that post that I never said another team shouldn't sign him. I even said it'd be scary if he signed with Miami. I feel he still can offer 2-3 of good service to an NFL team. Ecspecially now that he is humbled.

We do play the Chiefs... payback game for him maybe?

Question for everyone: How many times do we hear of a "cancer" in a winning locker room?

Randy Moss was considered a whiner and a bad influence before he was introduced to Tom Brady. No one remembers that.

New England has made a living picking up "cancers". Funny how playing on a winning team will change an attitude.

That being said, i dont have a problem signing him for league minimium and putting him out there. Any sign of problems and you cut him.

Yup... Mike Brown doesn't know much about football but I guess he knows a little but about business. A penny stock....

LJ has been done for a while.... he lost a step a year or two ago.

Which is it?

I like it. Hip injuries are not something that goes away very easily, so I think its a good signing because we really don't know how long this will bother Benson. I know some people might not be happy with it because of his past, but remember people said the same thing when the Bengals signed Benson last year, and that seemed to work out pretty darn well.

Bensons' past involved criminal charges that were dropped.

Johnsons' is vastly different.

I like this move. Like New England and the Randy Moss anology, everyone likes to play for a winner. This could make a great 1, 2 punch to wear teams out in the playoffs.
