Dixie might take a little lesson from how that turned out!

 

Please don't mistake fans' predictions and boasting for how the team prepares. HHS is working hard this week, just like they will do from here on out, to ensure they are ready for anything thrown their way!

I would be curious to see how many other schools besides HHS have had not 1, not 2 but 3 players not start and star at their respectful positions from 2008.

 

Austin Collinsworth....Defensive All State as a Soph. He could probably count on 1 hand how many times he has played Defense this year.

 

Brandon Roller...HHS's go to guy out of the TE spot last year. He has only played in Goaline situations as a blocker on offense.

 

Will Bardo...Started 15 games as a Junior at DB. Has not played 1 down on Defense this year.

 

I could probably go on and on but I won't

We no longer have players that play both ways...

 

Highlands= 11-0 at this point....The Highlands players are working very hard and getting the job done..

I believe you are correct, add Nick Buten to the list. He hasn't played one down of defense this year. The way Abner and Bruns are playing corner it doesn't surprise me.:thumb:

Yes I forgot about Nick Buten....I figured there were others!!!

HHS starts a very young secondary. The first game, some made comments that they were soft in the DB area. I think up to this point, they have proved themselves. They even start a former Red Colonel. Again something about being soft. Given the lopsided outcome of the regular season game, and that HHS has everyone for this game that they did for the last, I don't see it. However, even if (a very big if) the pressure is on Highlands, I know they have handled the pressure this year, and will do so again on Friday. :thumb:

Nothing new, it almost always is.

Dixie's offense is clicking on all cylinders and will likely put some points on the board against Highlands' first string, but not enough to keep the game close. Bluebirds by 20 pts, give or take. (I inadvertantly voted for Dixie in the poll.)

A lot of people have been writing that Dixie actually played up to their potential against Ashland last week. If Dixie manages to do this again, it will be interesting to see how the Red Colonels stack up against HHS. Clearly, Dixie doesn't stack up well against the 'Birds when they are not playing up to their potential, given that HHS thumped them 52-9 earlier this year.

 

Also, I could be wrong but it seems Highlands has faced mainly run-oriented teams this year... it will be interesting to see how HHS' pass defense holds up against a team that can pass the ball very effectively.

In the last game against Highlands the Dixie receivers averaged about 8 yards a catch compared to their normal 14. That's simply not going to get it done, especially when your running game is non existent.
