Game was over very early as Mayfield lead 43-0 at the end of the 1st, and they were up 64-0 at the half.

Caverna had no business being in the playoffs...no disrespect intended.

Great Job Mayfield. Looks like you got your Mojo back.

:dancingpa WOW! 64-0 at the half. :dancingpa

WOW.............. I think Mayfield is trying to tell Class A something.

I agree, 6 classes is just not working, ridiculous drive to get flattened by 70 points. Anybody with a red jersey on tonight scored. Our second string QB was putting on the points in the 2nd quarter.

Caverna is a very small school and they suffer from what so many schools their size do - up years and down years. Last year they were 5-6 and district runners-up, but they lost a great deal. Keep your heads up and you'll be better next year.

I knew the Caldwell game was a fluke loss to end the regular season. Congrats to Mayfield and Good Luck!!

I disagree. Yes, there are going to be lopsided first round games like this one. But there have been quite a few upsets tonight with lower seeded teams getting wins and a lot of tight games. I like the fact that almost all the teams in the state get into the playoffs and teams that are having tough seasons get a chance at redemption in the playoffs.

Just a little FYI. Since the KHSAA allowed four teams into the postseason in 1991 until the move to six classes in 2007, here are Mayfield's first round scores.

On average Mayfield won those games 44.2 - 7.1, a margin of 37.1 per game. Is it really that big of a difference?
