Again I must disagree. Obviously Trinty is a "good-very good" team and have not been beaten by any other KY team except X- similar to the past few years.

 

Why is anything different this year as compared to the past when they were hammered by X in the regular season? History has shown that it doesn't matter how bad X has beaten them during the regular season, who is on the present team, how close other teams play them, or any other factors. The program under Beatty continues to win the big one and until they are knocked off, they are the favorite!

 

Now if you want to say that X or SK or others appear to have a team capable of beating them this year, I can't disagree--But it has to happen first!

The Rocks came out flat against Lexington Catholic. It's tough to say why, maybe because this class of Seniors has beaten them so easily since their Freshman year, it's hard to say. What I will say is this Rock team is lead by a great bunch of Seniors. They might not have the names some of the previous classes have had, but they understand the legacy that has been passed on to them. They have played the toughest schedule in school history and are growing tired of hearing how great the Freshman and Sophomore class is from their fans. When those classes achieve State Championships which we no doubt think they can, then we can look back and call them some of the best teams there ever was. Until that time, this current group of Seniors has been part of two State championship teams and realizes this is their year to lead and pass along the legacy to the younger Rocks. This team will go through the playoffs and hopefully win number 20 because of Senior leadership. Coach Beatty has said just that. Those of us close to the program understand this has always been Trinity's advantage. Go Rocks!

Your correct. Last years Champs are simply that. Jan. 1 - we start all over. I do not believe T's Coaches allows the next year's Team to rest on those laurels.

 

Up for graps. Quite an achievement to repeat. Way too many things to derail that return to the last Friday or Saturday night.

Then you obviously don't know much about this team. Are they lacking talent that previous teams had? Yes. This doesn't mean they aren't leading this team. Coach Beatty commented at the Senior team dinner last week that it will be the Seniors that lead this team to their goals. He also told them after the game Friday something to the affect, I love you but be prepared to be punished on Monday. Needless to say, my son, A Senior, was not looking forward to today, but can't wait for the new season to begin Friday night.

I wondered what is going on with the kicker Nick Robertson? Is he still on the team or recovering from the bad back. The third season of the year begins on Friday night and I hope all goes well for the ROcks, They have the only coach that can turn this season around. If the other guys finally win a championship it may be the last for several years to come the Pebbles are loaded for the next three years. GO ROcks!!!:ylsuper:

That is true! I don't know if Beatty is planning to allow him back on, possibly someone has that answer.

For the life of me I hate hearing that "MY TEAM got better over the last 5 weeks" (thus implying that OTHER teams didn't).

 

Strangely, one would have to be somewhat close minded to look into my statement and draw out that opinion. Of course I probably should have seperated part A and Part B of my comment to show that they were seperate ideals.

 

My point about the Team A vs Team B and Team B vs Team C thus causing people to arrive at an opinion of Team A Vs Team C should go a certain way is drawn from the fact I feel too many intangibles play into each seperate game i.e. injuries, experience, simple confidence or drive, personnel changes, matchups, etc. I just simply don't think claims such as LCA losing to Lex Cath by one and Lex Cath losing to Trinity by one means LCA should be able to play Trinity to a 2 point loss.

 

However, don't take my comment fully towards LCA, it simply was derived from first Lone Oak and then the LCA comment. I feel LCA is playing very well at this time as well, as evidenced by the whooping put on Corbin. The three stars (as well as the other cast players that make a team run) are really clicking and LCA very well could compete with a lot of the top teams including Trinity. And that goes for Lone Oak as well.

 

I simply dislike the simple statement of deductive reasoning that some people make based upon two seperate games and their results.

Thanks he's doing very well and wouldn't trade his experience the past 3+ years for anything. Again, we don't have the most talented Senior class but they are working hard. We have alot of young talent that has been pressed into service this year and that boads well for the future. I am simply saying these kids have no less heart than any previous class and win or lose they will leave everything they have on the field. Go Rocks!
