The field was awful. Completely and totally awful. The refs were over heard in the bathroom talking about how they couldn't tell if a player is out of bounds. The field drained towards the visitors sidelines so there was standing water in the mud the whole game on our side of the field. People were speculating that they turned the sprinklers on all day. Worst field I have ever seen.

 

Rees MacShara had a long run on the last play of the first half, during the run, it looked like he couldn't tell if it was a lineman blocking or a defender coming to tackle him. The whole play developed in slow motion until he realized the guys running with him were were his own teammates.

They had Rees, Lamar and a couple of other players change jerseys during halftime so they could see who they were, after the first play of the second half, we couldn't figure out who was who again.

FWIW, I counted 57 East Jessamine fans in the bleachers at kickoff.

If someone could post pics of the field, you'd see. The rain that we had in this area doesn't justify the field conditions for a field that hadn't hosted a varsity game since Sept. 25th. Their field was wayyyyy worse than ours. Way worse.

 

I loved the "slip n slide" re-enactments some of the players were doing after the game ended.:lol::lol:

I was told by a member of East Jessamine's chain gang that indeed the sprinkler system was on today and that no one knew where the key was to turn it off. Either way the kids had a blast and enjoyed every bit of it, with the exception of their mothers. A lot of laundry being washed tonight. No injuries, a shut out, and a win. You couldn't ask for anything else!

After seeing the photos, I can now visualize that MacShara run.

Good job Rebels. Running clock the final 10 minutes. Does anyone know how many carries Rees had?
