Any one who has seen him play could tell on the fumble return by Timmerman that Austin just wasn't at any where near full speed.

He finished running that out right in front of me. I was really worried about him, seeing his face. He was clearly struggling.

That was the most impressive game I've seen him ever play. He entered into the game sick but sucked it up. Any one who has seen him play could tell on the fumble return by Timmerman that Austin just wasn't at any where near full speed. But he insisted on playing inspite of being sick. Then after his injury, he kept going back in. Finally the coaching staff refused to let him play any further. Just a gutsy, gutsy performance by the young man. Congrats Austin for the award and more importantly for the performance and leadership displayed on Saturday. :thumb:

Newport Central Catholic beat CovCath #2 by a score of 3-0 in OT

 

The NCC PK hit a 29 yard FG to win the game and the Championship for NCC

 

Really was a very, very well played game by both sides!

 

Congrats to NCC and the young seventh graders on the CovCath #2 team, have no reason to hang their heads.

CovCath completely dominated this game from the first offense play where Pope ran 65 yards for a TD to the last TD scored by the second team in the fourth quarter.

 

Campbell County had no answer for Dressman and Pope nor the CovCath #1 Defense.

 

BTW I learned the young man name who impressed me so much on the "D" side of the ball for CovCath #1 and he had a another INT tonight. His name is Adam Fischer #1. Outstanding job young man!

Cov Cath #2 lost to NCC in the small school championship 0-3 in overtime. Cov Cath #1 beat Campbell County in the large school championship 44-8.
