From the way I have been led to believe for this coming season, you won't need a deep pitching staff to win the the 9th Region Tournament. From what I understand the first round games will be played on a Monday and the championship game will not be played until the following Monday.

 

I really hate this type of set up, as it takes the "Team Pitching approach" away from the tourney and makes it into who has the single best pitcher instead of who has the best pitching staff!

I work for the stadium where the regions are held.

Bertke is a solid pitcher, as is Larimore. Wouldn't say they are especially deep in pitching, but outside of Dixie, I'm not sure anyone in the 9th really is. Every year I think Beechwood lacks enough talent to compete for region and every year they put up 20 wins and prove themselves a very good team. No reason to assume the same probably won't be true in 2010.

 

Im not going to name names but a little birdie told me he just got suspended from any type of Beechwood athletics for 6 months. I dont know if its true or not but if it is that really is going to hurt the Tigers pitching.

It sure would be nice for all of you who "think" you know SO MUCH to truly get your facts straight before you post information about kids on this site. You are taking information from sources that undoubtedly are not correct and possibly creating situations for these students.

For one I never said it was true. It was what I heard. So im not creating a situation for any kid. What I am doing here is the same exact thing is say someone saying a kid is going to transfer schools or not based on what you've heard. Because thats all I did was put something up that i HEARD. So until I or anyone else say its true then you what you just put is totally useless and makes no sense.

Hopefully he's not correct, but I think he was pretty clear in his post that he had no firsthand knowledge and didn't know for certain if it was true.

 

Again, hopefully it's not true for their/his sake. He should have a nice year and BHS doesn't have the depth to lose someone of his pitching quality.

I've heard the same thing from people inside Beechwood. That is a huge blow to the Tigers. I saw them as the team to beat in the 35th but now I think HC is.

Since you are a friend of the family, are you able to say definitively that it's not true? It is a rumor that is floating around out there. I've heard it from a couple of people myself.

Im not going to say who the little "birdie" is that i heard it from but if I told when I brought this issue up nobody would be questioning it. This "birdie" is very good friends with his family and peole on his summer team. So I dont think this "birdie" is lying. But dont take my word for it because they might be. I haven't heard a FOR SURE answer by anyone yet :laugh:

Drove past Ryle's baseball field last week, it looked really good. Looks like they laid some sod down and brought in extra dirt and gravel. Well manicured and looks like someone is taking care of it better in the off season.

i know for a fact that larimore is not suspended for 6 months so that little birdie that is being talked about is completely wrong. so that should sum up that conversation.
