I'm surprised not much has been said about Conner with the return of Russel, Hubbard, West, and Samad on the mound. They also return Pugh who hit near .450 last season. Plus Gill and Roberts returning in the infield and Liechty in the outfield. Seems to me they could be thrown in the mix.

 

With those four seniors starting on the mound, they got a heck of a rotation, although Russell was used as a closer last year. With their strong pitching and very strong supporting cast you just mentioned, they could be the straw that stirs the drink.:popcorn:

Have to agree with BM here Clyde, outstanding catcher when he keeps his head in the game, but he is far from being a solid hitter on the Varsity level and IMO has a long......way to go.

I would assume you are referring to Pugh and West? I have heard that both of them do plan on playing next year. I have also heard that Russel will be a starter next year. Some of his apperances were five or more innings. Conner will have a tough rotation next year, IMO.

I don't know of anyone who had more tutelage than he did. Some for on the field and more for off.

I think the Ryle is going to be strong this year. They have got a ton of returning starters. Carney, Hemple, Lonkard and the Donavans are all returning. Plus the players from their JV last year were good. Clarkson, Truiett and Hill will all make for a solid offense and defensive rotation. Hill was their pitcher of the year on their JV team, and will fit into the rotation. I think that Hemple, Clarkson all played on the Kentucky Colonels U16 team. I heard that Travis Elliott is not playing baseball anymore.

I think it's 50% a mental thing as well. Not to mention doesn't have the best of wheels on him. But again, defensively he's fantastic.

What are Beechwoods chances of winning the 9th this year? Dont they have most of their starting team back this year?
