I would agree with that. Just interested in opinions. Interesting considering that two of those teams for sure wont be in the region.

I would love to see the Indians of HC try to build off a good season last year. Even though towards the end they struggled.

As I have said before outstanding catcher when he keep his head in the game, but hitting? I just don't see it. He needs to get a lot stronger and to focus when at the plate! Keeping his attention to the task at hand is something that the young man has had problems with on and off the field. Good kid, he just needs to learn how to stay focus.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Sam Liggett as a possible POY candidate. Highlands won't be very good but Liggett should be in the running.

 

Highlands will have their hands full this year with the schedule that they have. But Sam Liggett and Chris Rizzo will both step up and be leaders of this team. Hopefully they get another shot at a District Title again this year!:thumb:

Best Defensive Catcher in the Ninth Region this year hands down and honestly no one else is close but he will need to step up his hitting quite a bit this baseball season to help HHS.

 

Watched Sam play a couple of games this summer but his hitting just didn't impress me all that much! Would love to see the young man go to a TMC or such type school as he has the catching tools to play on that level and if he can improve his hitting with some power he could go to a OVC school like EKy, or Murray State.

 

Where he winds up next year will depend on his hitting this spring and summer! Really nice kid and from what I understand a good student also!

Is he eligible for this coming season with his transferring from CovCath? Hope so, hate to see a kid have to sit out. Don't they live in Campbell Cty?

 

Why did Cottingham leave CovCath? Heard he was a great catcher with a great arm and with the loss of Maile, won't CovCath miss him?

From my understanding Coach Krumps and Coach Eck tried to help out the young man....Hopefully a new setting will help him and from what I understand he will and can play!

I agree with almost everything you said, he is a tremendous defensive catcher with a scary arm, picked several runners off the bases as well as throwing a good percentage out.

He actually hit the ball pretty well this summer, a lot of big clutch hits and I look for him to have a big year in high school play. Don't know if he will have enough help for HHS to contend though, hopefully I'm wrong.

He is an incredible kid who will be playing for the Bluegrass Chiefs and Coach Rob Sanders next summer. I know Xavier's coach was very impressed with him after seeing him as well as several other schools as well. Coach Sanders will help him tremendously in finding a good fit. The Chiefs other catcher next summer is young Mr. Cottingham, two great arms there.
