I beg to differ, I think Coach Rodenberg is gone so he was the last coach to have any success since 2001.

 

You just absolutely reinforced what TOG said. Rodenberg left...Brossart came in. Brossart was "owned" by Highlands, and this is the first season without Brossart. Wirth took his place, and looks to do MUCH better.

He's still there but a different coaching position. OTG made it sound like the Bird's haven't controlled this series in the last ten years.

I would love to see the Colonels win, but I have a hunch there will be a lot of talk about 'team speed' when this one is over. Need to get more of those state AA track champions to put on some pads.

This thread will not be official until we hear from LN telling us how the Birds can't look past the Colonels.

These two games in 2004 probably shouldn't be claimed as big victories by either Highlands or CovCath.

 

 

 

 

If you like defense 2004 was your year. 9-0 and 18-0 victories for the Birds.

 

For the record, HHS has owned this series for quite a while now.

All this talk about who won in the past is just that. I would be one to be concerned with CovCath. If you listen to the likes of OG, then this team is ready for anything that comes it's way. Coach Wirth has these boys believing. And with Robinson back in the mix, then who knows.

 

I guess a big question is what's going on with Schaffer? Since everybody is mum on the situation, then one would guess that there is some question whether he plays or not. Injury????

 

Add to the mix that it is Senior Day for the Colonels Sat., emotions will riding very high. Can anyone confirm Senior Day.

 

This might be a pick game. Heck CovCath is riding a 4 game winning streak. You know Highlands beat St. X a few weeks ago. So who knows!

Yes, its senior day. I'm in the camp that that doesn't mean much. Its actually a distraction IMO.

Birds O line has done pretty well so far, but they can get better and will need to this week. Trust me when I say this: CovCath's defensive linemen and lbers are much, much better and much, much quicker and aggressive than they have been the last couple of years. Each week they have improved and they will be a really nice test for the Birds O line. And you just know that Coach Ray is going to have all kinds of stunts and blitzes ready to test the Birds O line and try to get pressure on Towles. The Colonels have nothing to lose in this game and are really going to throw in everything including the kitchen sink defensively this week.

There are defintely a few kids who could add some team speed to the football team......
