The best team won. S.K. vs. Highlands would have been a GREAT game. Simpson looks like he is 100% for the first time this year. I thought the Ryle coaches made it easy for the S.K. D. With 8 in the box and the backer shooting the gap they still tried running up the middle in the 1st half. When they changed play calling in the second half the score was even. This makes the Ryle vs Conner next week huge. Good luck S.K. Maybe this will be the year someone from NKY in 6A can win it all.

SK was better in all phases of the game but the ones that stood out to me were the line play and the overall game plan. SK pushed Ryle around on both sides of the ball and seemed to be the better prepared team.

SK might be the best team in NKY. A case could certainly be made.

You couldn't be more right, they abused the LOS. Watch some of the blocking by the offensive line. Hansel made a key block on a long Miles TD. Hansel and Pic pulling to open a hole for Lawrence, and Wrs blocking downfield on a 51 yd TD run. I also think SK is the faster team, this SK team is so much better than the '08 version. 27 points per game in '08 with little to no passing threat. After seven games this season, 47 pts/ game. The Neers can celebrate tonight but tomorrow need to start thinking about Boone.

Seeing it on tape and having the benefit of a reply did you think it was really a non fumble? Couldn't really tell from my angle, and no doubt it was huge.

But there is the problem of the loss to Henry Clay, who has already lost to a team with 3 losses. And then I think about what Henry Clay had that beat SK - speed - which is what Highlands builds their whole program around. Nah. Barring a Highlands loss somewhere, I can't buy any scenario which causes me to think Simon Kenton could beat Highlands. But Simon Kenton was impressive and I am hopeful about their chances to finally bring a 6A title to N. Ky.

One more play that stood out in my mind. SK leads 7-0. Lawrence gets tackled, is limping around, then takes the snap and rolls out like lighting and completes a TD pass. It was either gutsy or a game of possum.

I respect your opionion, HHS has a fantastic team but I think there are plenty of scenarios for an SK win over HHS. One is Miles Simpson and he isn't their only weapon, a player like that can tilt the field. We'll never see it happen so actually who cares, I wish both teams the best. I must say it's very nice to see SK succeed, they deserve it, it's taken a while but the staff has built a nice program and they have an abundance of talent coming through.

The way Simon Kenton dominated this game all night, that fumble call meant nothing. The first half yardage was something like SK 260 and Ryle 74. I mean that was just a brutal beat down pretty much all night long. Ryle has some serious work to do on the defensive side.
