I have to agree with westsider here. Guyn and Johnson fit the make up of a high D1 athlete. Justice is good but he isn't quicker, stronger, or more athletic than Johnson or Guyn.

 

I think the reason Justice is getting the attention is because he is in-state talent. I think a walk on offer from Pitino will be likely if he offers anything at all.

 

You haven't seen Justice player more than just a couple of times then. Justice is quite possibly the quickest player in the state of KY. He showed it in the All-A tournament, the State tournament, and during multiple tournaments that were outside the state of Kentucky. He may be smaller but he is every bit as tough as any other guard in the state as well.

 

You all are underestimating Justice based on his height which tells me you all have very little knowledge about his actual skills on the court in which he surpasses most of the players in the state of KY. Don't let his height fool you.

I'm letting his height fool me. However at the D1 level there are going to be times where he is going to be match up against players who are just as quick as he is who are much much bigger and stronger. Therefore Rico and Guyn are better suited for the High D1 schools.

I talked to someone close to Shelby Valley point guard sensation Elisha Justice this morning and learned that Justice picked up an offer from Eastern Kentucky University during the past week.

 

Eastern joins Jacksonville University on Justice's lists of offers. Coaches from Radford, Marshall, Navy and Morehead State have been to Shelby Valley to watch Justice in open gym.

 

Louisville assistant and former UK star Walter McCarty will be visiting Pike County this week for open gym. The Cardinals have expressed interest in bringing Justice in as a walk-on during the first year with an opportunity to earn a scholarship the following season.

 

From all that I've heard about Justice's play this summer, my guess is that his list of offers will increase dramatically during his senior season.

Justice is certainly a solid player but I believe if he played in Louisville, he would be no better than Thomas Jackson, Delquan Thomas or several other of the guards in the region. I can't speak to the Lexington or NKy kids but the fact is he has been given the opportunity to dominate because he's on clearly the best team in his region and has played well in his occasional games against good talent. But I just don't believe from the times I've seen him play that he would stand out if he had to play against the best athletes every week! And whoever said he's the best athlete I have to disagree with!

 

If he gets an offer from UL and sees significant minutes in the future, please come back and remind me of this post but until then, IMO he would be better suited to go to a place like Jacksonville where he could potentially get a lot of playing time.

I would put him ahead of Jackson and Thomas by a slim margin. I think he is a very good true point guard, probably more so than any name mentioned. Although I think Delquan Thomas and Thomas Jackson are both great guards. The young man I believe will play Division 1 and is a great high school player.

That is why he has worked so hard on his body and his game throughout the last 4 years. This kid has not been stuck in the mountains playing lesser competition. He has traveled and played AAU basketball for the last 8 or 9 years. This all started this summer at the AAU tourney in Las Vegas, against what most would consider top flite competition Justice played very, very well. I would guess that most of the kids looked taller, stronger and quicker than Justice but he quietly holds his on very well. There were a couple of plays against Fab Melo in particular that raised some eyebrows.

Again, I don't believe anybody on here has indicated that Justice is not a quality player and kid, just that if he has done all these things then why are we hearing about only one or two lower D1 programs and UofL(local program) recruiting him. If he could play at a high D1 level (UofL), he should at least have several other offers from historically lower level teams from the premier leagues(e.g. Auburn) and there is no indication that he does. :idunno:

You can take the Boone Co/Cov.Holmes games from last year and compare them to any AAU game and you won't see an AAU game played with sort of effort and passion by 2 teams. But I'd rather not get in an argument about that on this thread. Its about Elisha Justice not other debates.

I've seen state and other tournament AAU games played with just as much effort/passion over the years, but you're right, it is not related to this topic directly.
