At 5-7 or 5-8? Really?

 

He is a man amongst boys at the high school level. Look at his arms in that picture and then look at your other high school kids. He may be 5'8" or 5'9", but he is 1) a point guard, 2) as quick as lightning, 3) has a motor that doesn't stop and 4) can grab the rim with both hands.

 

You don't get offers from NCAA DI programs unless you can play and this kid already has 2 offers for a full ride to DI programs. This kid can flat out play and should be one of, if not, the best PG's in the state this season.

 

I watched him against Evan Faulkner (NCAA DI), Ethan Faulkner (NCAA DII) and Jonathan Ferugson (all-time leading scorer in the 16th Region) and this kid was as good or better than any of them. He can play and that's the bottom line.

I just learned that Pikeville college has offered him a scholarship, as well.

I don't believe he is good enough to play at UK or Louisville.

 

Nobody in this Class is good enough to play at that level, the best shot would be for Guyn to walk-on at UofL.

I disagree. I think R. Johnson, Guyn, Elijah Pittman, Chad Jackson, and Josh Sewell could all play at a big time school. Maybe not early in their career, but later on. All are highly talented IMO.

Have to disagree....most don't realize what it takes to play at a top level D1 school.....All you mention are for sure talented, but maybe at the Mid to low level D1s....guess time will tell......

 

I do like Elisha Justice....isn't that what this thread was about....not sure he's a top D1 either, but he is fun to watch....best of wishes to all of them...

These kids all have nice low-major or possibly mid-major talent. There aren't any big-time UK recruits in that group.

Guys first off I will admit Im a SV homer so take it for what its worth. Elijah would be about 5'10. He finished the season last year at over 40 % from the 3line and has a lost art for a lot of high school kids the mid range jumper. I dont think anyone can question his ball handling skills. One day this summer the kid is in the gym by himself when I saw him he was already in a thick sweat. He proceeded to shoot jumpers for the next 2 hours. I honestly wouldnt guess how many he put up that day. And from what Ive been told if he wasnt traveling and playing this was his routine. Last year SV played Walton GA. They had Glen Rice Jr which everyone knew. They also had A kid by the name of Harrow who had committed to NC state. I know at one point this summer Rivals had him as a 4 star and a top 10 PG. Elijah was the best player on the floor THAT NIGHT and it wasnt close. Elijah picked his pocket at midcourt in the second half the crowd went crazy and the Harrow kid was done. Im not going to set false expectations about where he should or could go I just hope he reaches his maximum opportunity. If a bigger school takes a chance he could be one of those kids who come out of nowhere to have nice careers. Anyway way just glad to see our little hometown guy from Dorton KY get a little recognition. Also Kansas State has an assistant from eastern Ky and have heard they are asking around about him.

Great to hear this about Elijah....I have certainly enjoyed watching him play the last 2 years and look forward to seeing him more this year.

I would say this young man has put in countless hours in the gym and weightroom working to become the player that he is. He maybe limited in height 5'9, but I think almost every team in the state would love to have him as a team member. I hope he finds a school where he can get a good education and enjoy playing basketball. I think he would be a great fit at a school like ETSU? I wonder if the Bucs have shown any interest in him?

Morehead just got a commitment from 2010 PG Kevin Gray from Columbus, Ohio. So Morehead probably isn't an option, and I actually don't think an offer was on the table there.

Also, since Chad Jackson turned down EKU, they now offered that scholarship to Elijah. I'm suprised they are offering another point guard since they already have a commitment from a 2010 point guard that played at Mountain State Academy last year.

Well odds aren't good (particularly with Sewell and R. Johnson who are commmitted), but I believe any of the 5 I named barring injury would get a big D-1 offer after the season much like Vee Sanford did I think there is an outside chance of them going to UK or UL. At the same time I believe they will go to a big conference and play if they wait.

I never said he was as good as Downey. His size is similar. The comparison I did make was to Teddy Dupay. He is similar to him in ability, except he isn't the shooer Dupay was.
