Just curious Highlands fans, who have seen all of their games...We all know Cincy X is a very good football team, so congratulations on that victory. But how would you compare the KY 6A teams you have defeated this year? Manual, Ryle, and Boone??

SMART. Very smart. Because every 5A school in the state is keeping an eye on you. Everyone wants to knock off the #1 team. I think it makes it harder if that so called #1 team doesn't show respect to others.

Bell Co 12th? I think my Bobcats should be moved up higher. I think Bell should be right there with Boyle Co. Also, how is Henry Clay below Scott Co. when Henry Clay beat them soundly. Fort Campbell also seems awfully high. As for Highlands, yes they'd have to be #1. I wish they could come to Log Mtn this year.

Only state championships matter at Trinity, not rankings, not regular season matchups and "what if" winners. At Trinity only the teams that win championships are remembered and revered by the Trinity community.

I definitely agree. But does this perhaps say something about the level of St. X and Trinity this season? They're obviously good, but maybe they aren't good like we've grown accustomed to them being.

 

I definitely agree Highlands is the best team in the state, but I would not be so quick to jump the gun on Trinity and X being down. I mean maybe Highlands is just THAT good. A friend of Mueller's told me that Mueller thinks this is his best team EVER, and that is saying a ton...

:thumb: I believe you are right on target. I have been saying since before the season began, that this may be the best Highlands team ever and it is looking that way right now. If they don't stumble along the way and get that undefeated state title season, I don't know how anyone could say this isn't the best Highlands team ever. And it seems pretty clear right now that they are the best team in the state this season.

On paper Highlands is number one but I think a Highlands/Louisville St. Xavier game would be very interesting. Especially if both teams approached it properly.

 

Agreed. St. Xavier would be going into this game as the underdog, no doubt, but I think that even if Bardo were healthy and playing with Highlands, there's a chance for an upset here. I seem to recall a game a from several years back where Highlands had one of their "best squads ever" (boasting at least three or four D1 recruits). They had lost by one to Bishop Moeller, the Ohio state runners-up that year, but then in November, a much less talented team from Park Hills came in and upset them at home in the playoffs.

Then you might want to watch the replay on CBSC at 12:30pm today..They totally dominated X. If they don't fumble inside the 5 a few times this game isn't even close.. They didn't show much against Manual in their earlier matchup..:thumb:

I don't know what class Alcoa is, but they had around 100 players and year in and year out have a lot of D1 players. UK has 2 right now and the TE from Alcoa just committed to UK a couple days ago. That was a tough team. I just don't see Fort Campbell being better than the Bobcats.

 

I'm not saying Ft Campbell is as good as Alcoa, was just saying not to ditch a smaller school, because Alcoa is a 2a team and they handled you pretty easily. Also, Ft Campbell has several D1 players themselves, 2 or 3 on UK now. They don't dress 100, closer to 65-70, but, still a good # for a 2a team.
