Today, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to the former chicken catcher asking him to donate some of his winnings to a chicken sanctuary. In the letter-- PETA writes, "Just as you have received a second chance in life, chickens who have escaped the cruelty of the meat and egg industries deserve a second chance too." But when factions of the group take such ridiculous and public stands, almost demanding that others bow down to their wishes, it overwhelms the positive changes that many PETA members bring about. It is hard to be a fan when this is the kind of public statements they seem so often to make.
