September 18, 200917 yr I stopped at Wendy's in Louisa this evening while traveling and my order came to $6.66. When I drove up to the window, this was the conversation. Kid: That'll be $6.67 Me: I thought the board said $6.66 Kid: Yeah, uh, we aren't allowed to charge that amount. It's $6.67 Me: So you just added a penny? Kid: Yeah. Me: Why? Kid: Because we have to. If we charge $6.66 some people wouldn't pay for it. Me: Thats OK, I'm not bothered by it, you can take the penny off and I'll pay you the $6.66. Kid: Uh, I can't do that. Me: If you are going to arbitrarily change the price because of a superstition, then why don't you discount it a penny instead of adding a penny? Kid: Oh, we can't just take a penny off. Me: Why not? Kid: Because we have to add a penny. Me: Well, do whatever you have to do, I'm not paying the extra penny. Kid: Whatever. I handed him a ten and he gave me back $3.34 but the receipt still had a misc charge for a penny and the total was $6.67. I laughed about it for quite a few miles. So, is this a common practice at other places? And if so, would you pay the extra penny or would you be a stickler about it like I was?

Only the Beast would order at Wendy's and have it come out to $6.66.
September 18, 200917 yr Author First time I've ever been called the anti Christ. I've been called a lot of bad things, but never that. I'll bet it happens a lot. I ordered a #2 combo and upsized it to a medium. Fairly common I would guess. They probably make an extra 30 or 40 cents a week like that. :lol:

Funny story though :lol: Mr grandpa once made a woman at a gas station use the marker (the one the use to check for counterfeits) on every dollar bill she gave him back because she used it to check his $50.
