$6.66

Gee, I wonder what the executives types at Wendys think of the practice of charging a penny more and I can see some lawyers types on BGP's wheels spinning and thinking of some sort of class action lawsuit because of some stores doing it!

Not a bad idea oldguy. I could make a cool million and all my clients could get some free coupons for a #2 combo! (Then I really WOULD be the antichrist).

I have suffered extreme mental anguish over the whole thing.

I've heard of customer's who will not accept an account number if the numerals 666 are in their new account.

I grab a pack of gum if that happens to me at the store.

My husband's locker number in high school was 666. The school was evacuated one day because someone called and claimed they planted a bomb in his locker!

Some how that has never happened to me before. I get the medium #2 all the time? :idunno:

I was once given the # 666 in a race I was in and I asked for the next number. The lady handing out the numbers looked I me like I was insane. I just couldn't pin 666 to my chest.

I've had this happen to me before, I usually just buy something that's at the counter. Usually the cashier will suggest something because they don't like to take that amount. I don't mind though.

I didn't realize this many people cared about that. I would have chalked it up to weird and just paid. I would never buy something else for no reason.

For whatever reason, your story made me think of the following exchange from Spinal Tap. Great story btw.

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...

Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?

Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.

Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?

Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

Marty DiBergi: I don't know.

Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.

Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

Nigel Tufnel: These go to eleven.

 I read that with the accent and everything.

Exactly!! I read Watusi's story with the same British accent in my head.

Several years ago, a biggie sized triple combo from Wendy's came out to $6.66. Once I found this out, I would order it every chance I got, just to mess with the workers (and the fact that it was my favorite meal from there). Finally, one of the assistant managers, who was a friend of mine, came to the window and handed me several coupons for my meal of choice, just to get me to stop ordering that one. She said her workers were freaking out every time I came through the drive through, lol.

Also, I once dated a girl whose apartment number was 666. She was a Sunday School teacher.

My favorite scene from Spinal Tap.

I also read it with the accent.
