Michigan 38 Notre Dame 34

Featured Replies

Michigan outplayed Notre Dame today and deserved the win, but the Irish sure didn't make it very hard on them with all the stupid penalties.

Irish defense hasn't improved as much as I hoped it might have after the opener, but it is better than last year and most of these guys are underclassman and starting for the first time, so hopefully they can improve as the season progresses.

The Irish offense looked great, except for the abysmal 3rd quarter. Hopefully the injury to Floyd is nothing serious, losing him would be huge.

Very disappointed in Armando Allen's taunting penalty after the 2 pt. conversion. Show some class and act like you've been there before.

Weis needs to step up and accept the blame for the poor clock management. I can live with the one thrown downfield if he though he had a mismatch, but you can't throw twice and allow them to keep all of their time outs.

Looks, like Rich Rod may have the Maize and Blue turned around much faster than anyone thought coming into the season. That team in Columbus may actually have some real in conference competition in the very near future.

One good thing about the loss is that we will no longer have to hear Lou Holtz proclaiming an appearance in the National Championship game. Even as a die hard Irish fan that was pretty irritating.

I still think that 9-3 is a realistic expectation, anything less than 8 wins would be extremely disappointing. Looking at the schedule, Michigan could very well turn out to be the second best opponent.

Disappointing loss, probably wouldn''t have matter but sure would have liked those 2 extra seconds to let Jimmy throw one up for grabs in the end zone. On to Michigan State.

Floyd looked like he ripped the skin off his knee.

Does giving the 'shhh' gesture to the home crowd really warrant a penalty?

Not only was Weiss's clock management horrible, but did he forget to tell the receivers to get down as soon as they caught the ball there at the end. I about jumped through my TV to tackle Tate. On that play, I still haven't seen a replay, but it looked like he went down with 1 second to go.

At this point, Charlie Weiss would seem in hotter water than Jim Tressel,

but both did not handle 'big game' coaching very well Saturday. 'Gambler'

Charlie and his downfield mentality in the closing minutes vs. Tressel's

love affair with three points vs. touchdowns continues to generate games

that should be put away by his Buckeyes instead of 'Tressel Ball'.

Big paychecks and one national championship between them must

be enough to keep them in position to make questionable decisions.:idunno:

I like Weis but the 4 minute offense (2 + in this case) was awful! What I really hated and it might have been Clausen was the deep fade in that situation! If you are throwing an underneath throw like a Stick or Hitch route to help get the 1st down then I can live with that on ONE down. Not 2 pass plays trying to hit the homerun!

I thought that was as good as ND has looked in a long long time! Claussen really has a nice arm. Dissapointed the WR was nowhere to be found in the clutch. Must really be hurt bad!

Thought Michigan looked like a totally different team with the young QB. Their zone + bootleg game really got clicking! Be fun to watch all the folks that were ready to hang Rod jump on the waggon now! Huge win for him and Michigan!

Where's all the love for Forcier like there was for Barkley?

Its Michigan. The media does not like RR, college football fans think we are arrogant and people think the Big Ten is bad. Hail Hail to Michigan the Leaders and the Best!

Hats off to Michigan. In the update thread I was saying that the Michigan did not show any signs that it would be able to keep making plays all game, and well in the second half they sure did. It was a great game, even though I am very disappointed since I am a Notre Dame fan.

I flat out hate UM, but I must say I am gunna watch more of them because their QB is a stud. He is gunna be big time. I hate the school, but I might have just found a big Ten team with an offense worth watching this year.

Mich. didn't beat ND. Forcier beat ND in the final two minutes.:puke:

Fixed that for you fellow ramfan!

Forcier for player of the week for sure! Definately best freshman showing this week. I know he had over 100,000 cheering for him instead of against him. But IMO at this point I really dont think it would matter.

Look at Rich Rod's first two seasons at WVU. He only won 3 or 4 games his first year, then only lost 2 the next I believe. WVU bieng my second favorite team, I knew what he was worth. And what he would do. I doubted his recruitment earlier this year. And couldnt have been more wrong. Grabbing several players in the ESPN top 150.

The only problem I have right now. Forcier is OBVIOUSLY going to be the starting QB. But get Denard Robinson on the field somewhere! The kid is way to fast and has to many big play making abilities to not be out there. Glad to see the Wols turning things around. Hoping to see a top 25 rank this week or next!

A team can only go so far with Charlie Weiss calling the plays.

Amen:madman:

Everyone worshiped the ground he walked on when he made it to the bowl game against OSU. Im not pointing fingers at any of you. Just stating it as a whole even Mark May said this last night on ESPN.

Granted he made some bad decisions yesterday. If those decisions would've created a TD for the Irish everyone would be talking about how great of a decision it was.

Tressell is in ZERO hot water.

It appears the the injury to Floyd isn't too serious, but he did have to get 15 stitches in his knee.

He hit that hard surface pretty good. He played very well yesterday, good to hear he isn't badly injured.

Great game.

Bad loss for ND. If Charlie's seat was hot before, it may have spontaneously combusted after this one.
