September 8, 200917 yr I thought so too. IMO, the only bad thing about the loss to Miami was that it was at home. Agreed, both teams played exceptionally well in that game.
September 8, 200917 yr Kentucky is getting absolutely ZERO respect... You gotta beat someone better than Miami OH to get it though. UK will get recognition later in the year.
September 8, 200917 yr I continue to hate the fact that these polls are out this early. There should be no polls until at least four weeks into it. If we had simply watched the weeks games and then ranked the teams we would have a much better starting point for the season. Exactly!
September 8, 200917 yr I dont know. Offer me up a breakdown of those teams vs. UK. If you dont have one, I'm curious as to why you think Kentucky is automatically better than them. Kentucky's D is really good. They were really good last year until the second half of the year when injuries hit (Micah, Trevard missing the 4th qtr agaisnt UGA, people banged up.) They pitched a shutout agaisnt U of L, gave up 17 vs Alabama, played great agaisnt South Carolina (Uk lost that game because they had a blocked FG returned for a TD), they also limited to Arkansas and the other 3 (not good) teams they played to very few points, all earlier in the year. They looked impressive this year and have the top CB in the nation!
September 9, 200917 yr FSU is still a top 25 team. BYU is not the 9th best team in the land. Squeaking out a victory over a team with thier star out is not impressive.
September 9, 200917 yr Bama should be ranked ahead of USC. BYU should be around 11-14, not 9th. Boise should be in the top 10. Notre Dame goes from 23rd to 18th after beating Nevada, yet Boise State went from 16th to 12th after beating Oregon.

Notre Dame should probably be in the Top 20. Meanwhile, with the turmoil going on at Oregon (and I'm not talking about the punch, I'm talking about the AD former head coach stalking the sidelines) will be lucky to win 5 games this season.
September 9, 200917 yr Don't see a problem with the rankings...kind of surprised BYU jumped 11 spots considering the circumstances of the win, but other than that no big problems. I'd have Penn State #5 over Okie State and USC would be 2, Bama 3 and Texas 4. Even though Oklahoma State beat a ranked Georgia team?

Yeah that is true. I actually looked for Oregon to give USC a run for their money. Now it looks like Cal is the only team, besides Oregon State, who will be able to beat the Trojans. Even though Oklahoma State beat a ranked Georgia team? Yeah I don't agree with that either. Penn State played a weak Akron team while OK. State beat a pretty solid UGA team, who was ranked.

September 9, 200917 yr I'm happy to see UC in there! :thumb: They imo deserve to be. I am an OSU and U.K. fan and have no problem with OSU dropping I didn't think they wre a #6 pre season team last week. Somewhere around #10 is proably about right for them right now. As for U.K. and no respect, as another said......blowing out bad MAC team is not exactly a statement, should U.K. keep winning, they will be there. They are in the SEC though so imo don't look for alot of wins there. (and I hope I am as wrong about that as I was when I picked Miami.OH. to upset the Cats) :scared::lol:. hey, I only missed it by 7 touchdowns. I also don't put much if anything into rankings this early, makes for some good talk on boards like this and that's about it.

I don't really have to much faith in Kelly and him staying there for to long.
September 12, 200917 yr That isn't too bad but I think its ridiculous that they don't even get 1 vote at all in AP poll while teams like Houston, Tulsa, and Southern Mississippi do. I think we are seeing why Houston got votes. Tulane not so much
