December 21st, 2012...End of the World?

Featured Replies

After reading stuff about this supposed fate on this day, and watching the story on the discovery channel it got me wondering how much stock could actually be put in this?

Yes there is similar events that never panned out such as Y2K.

I personally don't believe anything will happen and I believe a lot of these, artifacts and scrolls that have been found are fake (but that is just my opinion).

I have heard that the end of the world is coming like 10 different times. I will believe it when I see it I guess.

Wasn't the world supposed to end back in the 90s when all of the planets aligned? Oh wait! That's happened quite a few years in the 4.6 billions years that our solar system has been around!

Some people just get their jollies by conspiracy theory and doomsday prophesies.

Agreed

I'm gonna be the person that says it will. That way when the world ends your gonna say to yourself "GrizzlyAdams was right."

Tell ya what, I have no scientic reason to think a thing of this, BUT, Dec. 21 is my ex's birthday. IMO if this is the day she came into the world, anything is possible on this day.

She's pure evil, man. Don't know when it'll happen, but when it does, I'm betting the date is Dec. 21. :thumb::lol:

I read something about solar flares on that day, I think. There's a movie coming out names 2012 and it sounds like something to watch.

Maybe just a "numbers thing"; some folks are ver much influenced by them.

12-21-12.

Said it's the end of the Mayan calendar.

That is the reasoning I've heard for this to occur for years now.

Where is that sleep smilie when you need it?

Noone knows when the world will end...

I'll be ticked if I spend all that money on Christmas presents and don't even get to give them out.

As a Catholic, I must say I'm absolutely giddy at a rare chance for me to quote a Bible verse before my Protestant brethren have:

"For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night."

Open them early..

It's the day of the winter solstice and a day in which a new cycle starts. Their calendar had to start somewhere, right? I mean their civilization did die out and all.
