September 8, 200917 yr I don't see how he would have played at UC either. There is simply too much talent already in place at the position for when Pike graduates and after watching them all closely I like both Massa and Dominique Brown of Winton Woods better in this class... Was UC going after Welch too?
September 8, 200917 yr Was UC going after Welch too? Not really. Alex Smith was the main TE target from day 1...
September 8, 200917 yr Not really. Alex Smith was the main TE target from day 1... With Smith's size will they consider moving him to tackle or guard?
September 8, 200917 yr With Smith's size will they consider moving him to tackle or guard? No. He's a TE all the way...
September 8, 200917 yr Griese sounds just like his father, and the Bearcats looked great. Rutgers offensively wasn't very good, so I'm still interested in seeing the Cincy defense against a better unit. I really like Pike, just think, we may have never known about him if the Mauk received his medical redshirt and Grutza not getting injured. Guidugli has put on some mass, he's a monster and likely the next UC TE to play in the league.
September 8, 200917 yr I liked the Kelcie (QB turned TE but QB for all intended purposes today) kid. When Pike graduates any chance of seeing him at QB, or will it strictly be Brown or Massa? Anyways..Pike was impressive. It was almost like he couldn't miss, with the exception of that interception. The whole offense just looked dominant. UC has to be the team to beat in the Big East. And they weren't ranked in the Top 25 last week, but I'd be surprised if they don't break it this week. Savage at Rutgers should get the nod at QB. I feel for the QB Natale who is a 5th year senior, and has waited for this season to have his shot, but Rutgers really has something special in Savage and the other freshman Sanu..*spellcheck*.

Chaz Anderson and Zach Collaros are in pretty much a dead heat for the #2 and #3 spot right now behind Pike and both are redshirt SOPHS. Kelce and fellow redshirt FROSH Brenden Kay are behind them with many close to the program feeling Kay is the next star QB for the Bearcats. Brown and Massa will have a ways to go to climb that depth chart...

September 8, 200917 yr lol nice. I liked Kelce regardless. BK spent some time with Urban Meyer and the Florida staff this offseason learning how they used Tebow in that package his freshman year with the intent of doing it with Kelce this year. His brother Jason Kelce is a starting G and one of the most respected guys in the program because of how hard he has worked since BK took over, so I'd never count out Travis in claiming the QB spot down the road...
September 8, 200917 yr To small for a TE maybe a FB... I thought he was taller than 6'. One thing is certain, he'll get a chance somewhere.

Yeah, I mean I wouldn't be against him being used elsewhere, but he just seemed to have something special...and I got the "hard worker" vibe from him. So funny that you should say that about his brother. I did know he had a brother who played though. Pretty cool. This team just has ALOT of offensive weapons this year.
September 8, 200917 yr As bad as I hate say it, UC looked very good in all areas. The offense was very well drilled with some great athletes and the defense was quick and aggressive. This bunch will be a load for anyone in the country on a given night. Good luck the rest off the way!!
